So I met Thomas Morstead last night .....

at the Gleason Gras event. Apart from him being a really nice down to earth guy, I got talking to him about a couple of things. One of the biggest things was how the National Media appeared to have written off the Saints as a done deal.

His reply, although not verbatim:
.......
We know what the media are saying and we love it. We are one season removed from the media being all over us and there was nothing positive there. Everything being quiet has been good for us and the media making us some sort of underdog is perfect.

We are all absolutely buzzing. Not just with excitement for the season but because we think we have a great team and a real chance to win it all. The NFC is definitely tough but we genuinely believe we could win it and the media making us an 8-8 team and a not-so-nearly-ran up against the Falcons just fuels the fire.
.......

We also talked about some incredibly low level football in England but this stood out for me. He was confident and collected and said the team were as well and they love it. I keep wanting to bite on all this national press saying that we are not a contender but you know what, lets play the underdog card.

He also said, and this was the standout:
.......
We feel just like we did before the Superbowl winning season. We all do. We haven't felt like that since that season. We do now.
.......

I am buzzing for Sunday! Who Dat!

Friend of mine met him and hung out with him at length at the St. Baldrick's head shaving charity thing he did. Quality dude. Loved what he had to say, that's just what we want to hear.

All, thank you for supporting Gleason Gras.

As Steve works tirelessly to bring ALS awareness to the front of the room by supporting those dx'd with it assistive devices, funding dreams and challenging researchers to look outside the box.

Steve's work will make a difference in all our lives.

Do you know anyone with ALS, MS, Parkinson's or Alzheimer's?
We all benefit because of Steve.
He blocked a kicked in 2006 and will forever be "that guy".
His most important work is in progress.
