WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
Hey guys its the VillainAgain...again And I just wanted to say who ever pulled the trigger on Kenny V Instead of the other highly touted prospects deserves a statue in his honor #32 was BRINGING THE WOOD EVERY PLAY!!! Anyone who says he's too aggressive is exaggerating he plays just right actually the boy is a ball player as a Safety by definition he is supposed to protect the deep. Well done F.O

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
Whats funny is that after the game, malcolm jenkins said Vaccaro was out of position when he tipped that pass near gonzales.
Firs thing i thought "kind of ironic malcolm saying anyone is out of position" But then i thought you know what? Vaccaro just understands the game, he knew where ryan wanted to go with the ball and that my friend is called instincts, you cant teach that |

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
He's not putting of position because he doesn't know what he's doing, he'd out of position because he takes chances. Only special players do it successfully. Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Asante Samuel, etc. Those are big play guys. Guys who know when to jump routes. Vacarro was jumping on Gonzalez all day in the end zone. That's why Julio got the TD.

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
Yes, sir! I'm loving what KV32 is bringing to the D. He has instincts and moxie that are hard to teach. You can bet your a$$ that he was purposefully "out of position". He read the offense and made a beautiful play. Instead of just working his assignment and making potentially a minimal impact he read the play, adjusted, and made the decision to make a huge impact. It's what the best players do. Watch and learn, Malcolm.

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
Obviously there was more to it involved than this but... I just keep wondering if Payton spent a lot of his year off time in Texas, sitting around on the couch watching college ball, on Saturday afternoons instead of traveling with the team or finishing prepping for a Sunday game. You look at this year's Saints draft, and there was a lot of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas region in it! It's all kinda weirdly right there around him, if you put the pins on the map. Almost every dude we got in this draft, was probably playing every weekend in Payton's local TV area game map in North Texas, LOL.

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
I'd much rather watch KV be out of position and make a play then see Jenkins be in position running behind a WR that just caught a 5 yard crossing pattern and turning it into a 55 yard gain

He's a special player and he's hungry. He has good football instinct and I like his attitude Malcolm and Harper can learn something from this Kid take note.

Reminds me a bit of Sammy Knight, only faster. Time will tell about how good he really can be.

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
Harper also remarked Vaccaro was out of position on the Nola.com video about the last Atlanta offensive play...
Either way, he's already better than Jenkins and Harper... If we can get White to move to safety, we'd really see an improvement... I still want Alec Ogletree, but it's great to have a first rounder come out and play like a first round pick! |
Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
He reminds me of earl thomas coverage wise and troy polamalu the way he lays the wood down on ppl. I was never sold on jarvis jones prior to the draft i was hoping when it was our turn we would draft vacarro. He looked nfl ready no give it a year on the pine type stuff.

There's a great analysis of how Vacarro was used over at Breaking Down How Saints' DC Rob Ryan Is Using Rookie Safety Kenny Vacarro | Bleacher Report.

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
I find it funny that the two players that I highly doubt have the football IQ of KV are the two that are saying he was out of position on that play. Who gives a rats arrss, KV helped win the game

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
I will eat crow on this one. I was like wtf when we picked him. I wanted LB depth any way would could get it, even if it meant a trade. I think this kid is going to be special. Would like to have a rookie Lb that balls like Vaccaro does but I aint *****in.

Also a good breakdown on the big Jackson run. It was on Vaccaro.

Harpers blitz was to get the QB. No way that was on Harper. http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/ar...650&h=433&q=85 Here's where Ryan may have out-schemed himself. If the Falcons pass when Vaccaro is at this position, it may not be a big deal. His quickness may be enough to get a tight end like Tony Gonzalez off the ball in an effort to disrupt the quarterback. But if the Falcons are running the ball, a 250-pound Gonzalez may be able to manipulate Vaccaro's run-fit responsibilities. Maintaining gap integrity and displaying proper run-fits are essential in run defense. http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/ar...650&h=432&q=85 Right away Vaccaro is the victim of a seal block. Gonzalez is pushing him towards the action, when this play is designed for Jackson to cut it back to the strong side. http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/ar...650&h=433&q=85 Harper could have helped this play out by not initially looking for the sack of the quarterback. But this situation happened mostly due to Vaccaro being too small to perform the task. A player like Jay Richardson—who was unfairly cut this preseason—is the type of outside linebacker who would've blown this play up quick, fast and in a hurry.Instead it made Falcons running back Steven Jackson look like he had a good game, when in reality he wasn't a factor in the run game outside of this blunder. http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/ar...650&h=432&q=85 As you can see, Vaccaro is completely turned around and is no longer a factor in this play—in a positive manner. The thing is, Vaccaro is so talented that I believe he could possibly adjust after watching this on film. The Saints have found possibly the most versatile defensive player in the league. His size, strength and athleticism make him a fit all over the defensive formation. Coordinator Rob Ryan has to be salivating every week just thinking of more ways for Vaccaro to be involved in the action. Despite being tagged as a reserve, Vaccaro played every defensive snap in the Saints' victory over the Falcons (according to Katherine Terrell of Nola.com), as well as an extra 11 snaps on special teams. And fittingly, it was his tip of the final pass that broke up the potential game-winning throw from Ryan to Gonzalez. The first of many game-changing plays we will be seeing from this defensive dynamo. |

This is a nice break from the traditional first round disappointment.

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
ITS CALLED PLAYING FOOTBALL! MJ and Harper can say what they wish if Vaccaro is in said position then Gonzo catches a touchdown with roman harper and Jenkins covering. Vaccaro has extremely good instincts that sports science segment was on full display sunday fully padded . He plays like water he just flows the the game, Its a pretty big statement to say this but the last person I saw play football with such a grace was Bo Jackson. AND I DO KNOW BO!

Re: WHO EVER PULLED THE TRIGGER ON KENNY VACCARO AT #15!!!
So firstly I feel a little bit smug about backing KV from the moment we drafted him. Hooray for me. However ....
I am going to take my bow of shame in that I knocked Jenkins and Harper mercilessly all summer and actually I thought they were both excellent pieces in the defensive performance the other day, both of them. I wouldn't start comparing all of them as they play a different game. Let's see how good KV is at blitzing versus Harper for example (appreciate I am making a point by taking an unnecessary comparison). What I saw was 3 safeties with different attributes that worked well together when they were on the field and I am really happy with that. Let's take this performance and turn it into something consistent before we all get too excited but this is a very good start indeed! |

At pick time I said who the hell is that. In Loomis I trust. Where's Toon.

KV a lot better choice than Mingo from LSU would have been.
