Im sorry I know there is a thread about Vaccaro, but this **** pisses me off. I saw both the Mathews hit and of course the Vaccaro hit several times. Vacarros hit while illegal was a common mistake that happens every single Sunday. Hell he is a rookie. How can Goodell fine him and not Mathews with a straight face? This is just blatant.
I mean maybe he heard the buzz about Vaccaro hitting hard at camp and the scuffles and wants to send the boy a message, but it seems there is something very very wrong with this.
Hell even the refs admitted that they should have called Mathews. Mathews hit was down right dirty and one could make an arguement that it was purposeful.
Im just pissed sorry guys.

Matthews will get fined.

He talked about hitting Kaepernick. Kaepernick was at least an entire yard out of bounds when Matthews pulled him down and Matthews threw an, albeit, limp wristed punch at an offensive lineman in the brawl that followed his cheap shot.

There's no way the league could look past all of that.

Even so I would think that would be the first fine handed out. It was the biggest story. Why go for some rookie first, especially one whose offense wasnt that bad. If you werent a Saints or Falcons fan you probably wouldnt have ever heard about the Vaccaro hit. Mathews hit is a friggen barroom topic of conversation all across the country

To answer your question; we were not "supposed" to WIN S.B. 44. We were supposed to feel privileged to just be there given the Katrina displacement and hardships we had endured as a team and a city.

Precious Peyton Manning was pre-determined to be crowned the King of the NFL and MVP of that game. Which is why he stomped off in a huff without extending congratulations to Drew.

I don' t think we were suppose to win the NFC championship; they made a rule change the following season that a overtime field goal can't win the game
After years of debate concluding they didnt want to prolong the game due to tv schedules
