So you're telling me Colston, Lance, Stills, Meach, Watson, Graham, Sproles, and PT

How do you stop that? You better be in the backfield constantly or I just don't think you can. That's another thing underrated about Meach, he's big and can block downfield.

I hope stills and toon get on the field before meachem

Meach did great things for us but he's very one dimensional as a pass catcher, if the deep ball isnt open he wont have a catch all game

Stills and toon can do it all

Well Stills is already starting, not sure about Toon, but I like his progression

Meach is big, he could do anything they asked of him. Toon is big too.

I hope not. I hope they are saving him for an emergency only thing.Im all for giving Stills and Toon as many reps as they can handle.

Meachem is probably much more ready to play then Toon. I'm waiting for Toon to just awaken, but it hasn't happened yet. But they'll all play if active. The Saints have numerous packages with different personnel.

We have to combat their two offensive weapons. One on passing offense and one on rushing offense. If we can win with a rushing offense that has no more than 40% of the plays and then that rushing offense has not too many week-1-Ingram-styled rushes. I think our passing defense is the focus today, strangely.

I think that Payton wanted to insert Meachem to see what he has left.

I don't agree with that.

Maybe Toon is active next week and Meachem hangs out inactive until an injury.

This was an U-G-L-Y game overall. Apart from Jimmy in the first half, and Marques at times, the receivers didn't distinguish themselves. Their QB didn't help their cause.

I think the Bucs D is talented. No discipline at all across the entire team. Schiano is a cancer.

Meachem- 0 catches and targetted only once. Better recreate himself as the next Roby or he will be the next Stallworth

Meachem wasn't anywhere near the one thrown to him. Was Brees off or was meach too slow?

LOL I thought the same thing on that play, I thought Brees was throwing it to the spot where Meach would have been in 2009!

I liked his hustle on that pick six Brees threw. He didn't manage to stop the guy but man he tried and was the only one even close to the making a tackle.

So many around here have been blasting Brees for his underthrows. If that is a fact, then Meachem has lost it and is simply much slower.

Or, in Brees' defense, perhaps his current receivers are faster and he has not had a chance to get totally in sync with the reduced practices mandated by the new CBA. He still seems to be hitting Colston and Graham with no problem. He is not used to the speed of the others. It takes time.

Well Meachem did have a step on the defender so he may not have lost much.

He used to have three steps on his defender "way back when". Then again, It has been a couple of years since they worked together. Maybe Brees remembered him as being a little faster.

That is a VERY good point and a good reason to be optimistic. I forget that Brees is working with a few new targets this season.
