Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS CARDS GAMEDAY THREAD
Passing game looked as if it was starting to get into rhythm. One thing I noticed in games 1 and 2 was that the tempo of the offense was slower than normal, and that seemed to have improved a ton in this game.
The run game looked a bit lackluster, though the Cards were playing the run pretty hard. Khiry Robinson looked impressive and could end up being the teams go to back, and even if not at least may light a fire under Ingram's ass. I still feel as if the offense is a far cry from where it has and needs to get better in a hurry, as the schedule is going to toughen up a bit.
The defense looks like an entirely different unit than was present last year. Constant pressure on the QB, the secondary is covering much better than it has in the past. One problem I have is that defense has consistently started slow before buckling down; though I think that problem will go away as the team gets used to being in Rob Ryan's schemes. You have some people saying that we have a top 5 defense,... and while that's entirely plausible I still need to see more(would like to see the same production against a good offense/looking forward to New England game); I'm pretty certain though that we are at least a top 15 defense, which is pretty amazing considering where the defense was last year.
