Re: Sitting on top of the world
You should go check out the falcon board, they're calling for mike smith's head right now.
|
Re: Sitting on top of the world
They should have called for that before now. I have pointed their issue out in the Smack Talk area quite a few times.
They are just ssslllooowwww. |
Re: Sitting on top of the world
Great stats. Good call-out on the Interceptions though. Brees is prone to throwing Interceptions. So far it hasn't cost us but it nearly did in Tampa and it allowed for an uneasy finish against the Falcons (based on a crude assumption that had he not thrown an INT, we may have stretched the score a little).
As you say, let's see if we can't tighten that up a little. It would be nice to get through the next 3 games with 0 INTs if not just to balance the books a little. |
Re: Sitting on top of the world
If we can keep this up and tightened up on the INTs, the NFL better look out. I can't wait for the next three games. I think out D line will feast on Miami's O line. Chicago will be a fun one to watch. It wouldn't surprise me if the New England games turns out a lot like the Tampa Bay game. That would not be what the fans were expecting out of that match prior to the start I the season.

Worst job in the NFL is being assigned to cover Jimmy. 2nd worst job knowing it will be your job the following week.

Re: Sitting on top of the world
My guess is that Drew contributes 7M off his salary to the keep Jimmy Graham foundation next year.
|
Re: Sitting on top of the world
The offense is 6th right now and has yet to start clicking on all cylinders, when that happens and the is able defense keeps this up and/or improve. The NFL is so screwed

Re: Sitting on top of the world
Less than 20% of the season completed.
Two plays from being 1-2. (Jackson drops a TD, Kicker whiffs a chip) I don't know the rank in Sacks allowed, but Drew has been hit A TON. They MUST improve O line. There is ZERO run game. Sean Payton believes the short pass is a run... That won't fly far into the playoffs. An improved pass rush & Drew Brees (to Graham) are our bright spots. Sorry, but I have concerns. |

Brees protection is a serious concern. However, remember that the team shouldn't have even been in a position for those two plays to matter much because the offense left points on the field in both of those games. If the offense starts clicking, like we know they should, they won't find themselves in those type of scenarios. |
Re: Sitting on top of the world
Just in case anyone is curious, we are 9th in sacks allowed, five other teams have given up the same exact number of sacks as us (10), and we are rated 21st in "QB hits" allowed. We have 14 QB hits allowed so far; for general comparison the Broncos (2nd best) have 8 and Cleveland has 34.

1. You can be mad, no one is stopping you. 2. There have been 9 games in the last 3 weeks won by 3 or less points... That means there was one play in each game that could have changed that... ONE PLAY... One play decides more games than you know because most of the time it is ONE PLAY that changes the entire tide of the game. 3. Drew has 10 sacks... Equal to or less than 9 starting QBs in the NFL. 4. Yep, when Jhari isn't injured it will be. 5. That ZERO RUN GAME has 8 teams doing worse. And that short pass is sort of what we did for the majority of a Super Bowl win. 6. I would say you have huge gaping holes in your view of our up side. Having the number 5 passing defense in the league is something we have had last when? 2010... Having the #5 passing defense in a pass happy league is huge. We get gashed for runs, but we are not consistently getting run over. Considering we have faced martin and Jackson in the first two weeks and did very well against them. At the end of the day, season, it doesn't matter what concerns you or I have with this team, all that matters is WHO IS PLAYING BETTER WITH LESS ISSUES. I would say that only team right now would be the Seattle Seahawks. Even the mighty 49ers have more issues than we do. |

Can you imagine a male dog in a warehouse full of legs?
Last season was so hard for me that, that is exactly how I feel right now. Lol Remember in An Officer and A Gentleman on the drill pad when Mayo is crying "don't take this away from me"? :) |
Re: Sitting on top of the world
Jeeezuz Oak. If you knew me, i'm the most confident and boisterous fan of our team. but i also know when we look worse than we really are...
Like I knew Ingram wouldn't be a 1000yd back in New Orleans.. |

Re: Sitting on top of the world
We need the O line to solidify & Drew has got to stop throwing Ints
