And aside from the football aspect of it, I think the event that was the MNF game, being nationally televised on prime time, it told the country "New Orleans is back", and people around the country and the world saw New Orleans again as a world-class tourist destination.

For a year, most (if not all) the pictures people around the world saw, were of devastation. And then, what they see, is the unveiling of this shiny golden dome. That was the moment that told me New Orleans was back; that to me, really is the moment that symbolized the rebirth of the City of New Orleans.

Now, football and the Saints, that is as much a part of New Orleans as gumbo, Jazz, and Mardi Gras. That is ingrained in the city's soul. Knowing that the Saints were going to stay gave people hope. That Gleason play, that gave the city its soul back.

Sorry, I need to go get this thing out of my eye.

I have always said and stand by this statement, the Gleason block is the defining moment in Saints history. The super bowl was great, but without the block that changed the world, I dont know if there is a super bowl win in 2009.

Also, after watching the play again, I understand what Payton is talking about when he says the dome has never again been that loud. The dome was shaking. Who knows if that emotion will EVER be duplicated. I call BS on the Seahawks breaking the record for loudest fans during the SF game. I would like to see the measurement for this game.

Undeniably a testament to the value of Special teams performance.

I loved it when Gleason punched the Panther play in the groin. I will never forget that. Good block too by the way.

The fact that Curtis Deloatch scored that TD says alot too. Alot of guys that nobody heard of before the season (Marques Colston, Terrance Copper, Jamal Jones) would score for the Saints over the course of that season, and were a part of that "shift". People may not have known all of their names, but that team fought and scratched their way all the way to the NFL's final 4 that season.
