Saints after 4 weeks

Simple question...

Which side of the ball is our most valuable asset right now?

Poll accompanying and discussion would be nice.

This team has always lived and died by the offense. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Offense for me. I know the defense is much improved and playing lights out, but our offense is still our biggest weapon. Drew and the crew are just too damn good.

I'm gonna have to say defense...

I mean we've always lived and died by how well the offense has played, but now with the defense playing so well we might not lose so much when the offense has a bad game.

Just look at weeks one and two when the offense were not on the same page, defense did just enough for us to pull out the win...

If not for the defense we 'could' be 1-3. Just sayin'...

Offense scores points............you need points to win. Therefore offense is more valuable! It's just logic.

Re: Saints after 4 weeks

Thus far the offense has not been the scoring machine it was before, that has only changed in the last 2 games.

I am going defense.

What would the score have been with 0 interceptions and forced fumbles last night?

What would we have done in weeks 1 and 2 if the defense had not preformed do well?

And what would it have been without 4TD passes from Drew? :D Sorry, just had to play devils advocate on this one.

I do believe two of those TD passes came off of turn overs... No?

Re: Saints after 4 weeks

Creating and forcing turnovers, consistent pressure on the opposing QB, and stellar play from a constantly rotating defensive personnel has been key to this team this year. The offense is finally starting to click, but it is the defense that carried us through those first few games. They may be giving up long drives early, but Ryan makes the necessary adjustments to shut the opponent down. I am officially on the Rob Ryan bandwagon now.

Yes but the defense wouldn't be as good if it didn't practice against our offense. And I think Drew pushed Vaccaro out of the way of a speeding train during the offseason. So without Drew we wouldn't even be as good on defense.

Ding: Offense

We have room.

I'm going with the defense. Defense is why we fear Seahawks and 49ers. Plus we've seen the results of no defense with a good offense.

So the defense practices against Drew or our Back Up Quarterback?

Obviously, you have to have both to win. But...if I was going to back up my answer, I would say: "You can have all the defense in the world, but if your offense can't score points, you lose...period." :D

I know its just semantics LOL... But

Which side of the ball is our most valuable asset right now?

Drew and SP are the Head of this team. Offense.

I see the argument for defense. But if the O isn't scoring the we aren't wining the games.

Re: Saints after 4 weeks

I believe both are equal right now, both have made plays and set the game in stone without one or the other doing as good as they are right now we wouldn't be 4-0

Re: Saints after 4 weeks

I just came up with a new poll discussion.

Re: Saints after 4 weeks

based on the current play on both sides of the ball up to this point, ima hafta go with defense. we would not be 4-0 without the way theyre playing-hands down. Now if the offense had been playing like they are now from the start of the season,it would be a different story IMHO.

Re: Saints after 4 weeks

Valuable?

This is a team and we are part of it.
Our strength is a team.

Look at Tampa self destructing.
Atlanta is at critical mass...and the Texans dividing themselves against Shaub with a team meeting regarding their QB?

Before the season started, y'all wanted to lynch Robbie.
Last year with the record breaking sale on yards, we still had a better record the worst team in the NFC and AFC.

Most valuable asset is you and I!
