Midnight train to chicago
The New Orleans Saints will depart one day earlier, Friday, for their road game against the Chicago Bears due to Tropical Storm Karen, coach Sean Payton announced after Thursday’s practice.
The Saints were originally scheduled to depart for Chicago Saturday afternoon but due to the storm, the team will now leave late Friday evening. “We will be able to handle this pretty smoothly but our plan is to leave tomorrow in the PM just to be smart,” said Payton. “We don’t want to get caught. It sounds like more of a wind issue potentially on Saturday.” Typically the Saints hold a walk-through at the team’s facility on Saturday before departing off for a road game. Payton said they would use a field near their hotel on Saturday for the walk-through. The Saints and Bears kickoff at Noon CT (FOX) at Solider Field on Sunday |
