There haven't been many kinks in the New Orleans Saints' vastly improved defense this season.
Even with their various ailments through the first four games, including the temporary loss of starting defenders Brodrick Bunkley and Roman Harper, not to mention a number of season-ending injuries, they've managed to put up respectable numbers. More than respectable, actually. The Saints are No. 8 in total defense (304.5 yards per game) and No. 5 in passing defense (192.0 yards). If there's a kink in the armor, it's the No. 22-ranked run defense, which has allowed an average of 112.3 yards. Considering the 186.75 rushing yards they gave up through four games last season, thanks to big performances from the Redskins' Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris, Panthers' Cam Newton and Chiefs' Jamaal Charles, the turnaround is even more noticeable. Re: New Orleans Saints defense says stopping Chicago Bears' Matt Forte key
If we do get beat, it'll likely be two reasons.
1. Our offense lays an egg 2. Matt Forte I still think we might be susceptible to the dink and dunk, and Matt Forte is Pierre Thomas on steroids. |
