Oct 18, 1987 Saints @ Bears: Saints D racked up 5 sacks and picked off a hapless young Bears QB while winning the game 19-17; they eventually went on to the playoffs. The Bears QB transitioned over to coaching and of course his name is Sean Payton. I suggest we won that game twice by helping to put Payton on track to do what he does best.

This week the Saints are favored as a road team by 1 point so there's that. I also think a 1987-type score is a more likely outcome than another nfccg-type result.

Yeah and in that game, most of the starting defense had came back... They brutalized Sean that game

Thanks. Was gonna mention that. Plus, after years of all this record-breaking offensive stuff, his whole life and career, now Payton is going to roll into his hometown (sorta) with a certifiable legit defense. Jason David will be nowhere near the field. Payton has never had that at Soldier Field before. This game is gonna be awesome.
