PFF 1st quarter O-line grades

Glad to see Strief studding out. I'm proud of him. Apparently he's not garbage. |
Re: PFF 1st quarter O-line grades
Yeah, I've never gotten the criticism for Strief. He's always gotten the job done.
Call me crazy but I think the o-line is playing better. They made some nice holes for PT against the Bears. That was offset by some negative plays and that minus-6 yarder was especially a killer BUT there was generally much more room to run than there has been. |
Re: PFF 1st quarter O-line grades
Very proud of Charles Brown and Zack Strief... They've been fantastic! It's very strange to see the interior of the O-Line struggling a bit; makes me wonder if we'll re-sign DLP to a long-term contract after this season.

Wow........Strief is our best O-lineman? Last season I would have never seen that coming........this season either as a matter of fact.

Re: PFF 1st quarter O-line grades
With NE missing their nose tackle I am hoping we can get a rush going. I would love to see just 25-30 yards more per game.

My students would love to take your class, Hagan, if you were that lenient.

Re: PFF 1st quarter O-line grades
If we're giving grades based solely on pressure put on Drew, I actually think we're being a little harsh. Besides that one atrocious performance by Lelito that other game, completely discounting our run blocking, I'd actually go C+. Remember some of the pressure and hits Drew took earlier this year was attributed to him holding onto the ball too long... which many took as being the offensive line's fault.
Both our tackles this year have exceeded expectations(so far at least). Grubbs besides being blown up visibly in the Miami game, on one play I might add, has been our best interior lineman. He's been phenomenal on screen plays and his pass blocking has been fine. We get Evans playing his typical ball and De La Puenta to play decent, we're looking at a solid line. Being that we have a great coach and quarterback, that's all we need. We don't need a great offensive line to be a great offense. |

i have no choice but to look at that way. if drew goes down so do the saints.
