#1 or #2 Seed
 

It's too early to talk about that! Oh no, you're going to curse it! Yeah well in amongst the continuing BS I have to keep reading about Jimmy Graham's contract and the Franchise tag and is he a Wide Receiver and will Brees restructure (yawn, yawn, yawn and yawn) I thought I would put up something else! :)

I don't believe in cursing it or talking too early, I'm looking at what I have seen through nearly 6 games.

1 - The Saints ARE going to win the NFC South. The lead we have on the rest of the teams is ridiculous. The Bucs are horrible. The Panthers are better than their record suggests but will not muster more than maybe 6 wins this season. The Falcons, it delights me to say, are done. In fact I am starting to wonder if they can stay in front of the Panthers.

2 - There is no way the NFC East is being won with more than an 8-8 record. That division is truly mediocre. They will all continue to take games off of each other and will not muster enough to go beyond a .500 record

3 - The NFC North is the toughest division in football. The worst team at the moment (Vikings) may just sort their QB situation out finally and they have players like AP and Jennings as well as 3 #1 draft picks they aren't playing properly. Throw in the Bears and Packers who are playing at a good level and dare to write off the Lions at your peril. No team in here can go through the season without losing at LEAST 4 games. I would be very surprised if the NFC North isn't won at 11-5. We have played our only opponent in that division this season. We won. We own the head-to-head.

So my logic is working towards believing that as things are going we are good for at least a 12-4 record, an NFC South win, a massive step on the NFC East and a likely step on the NFC North putting us in Seed #1 or #2 slot.

I'm looking at the schedules for the Seahawks and 49ers. I know our schedule like the back of my hand. They have to play each other in San Fran. They still have divisional games. One of them is picking up a Wildcard spot.

The head-to-head games with those two are season defining. We probably believed that at the start of the season. Now it is even more prevalent. I feel much more confident that we can beat the 49ers at home than when the season started. Going to Seattle could well be the game that ultimately defines the question. #1 or #2 seed. As things stand, it's on that much of a knife edge. Walk out of Seattle with a win and the road to the Superbowl goes through New Orleans. Walk out with a loss and I think we may well need to be crossing our fingers that the Rams and Cardinals can pull out an upset against them.

Am I the only one thinking this way? I love typing :)

Disagree Brother, this year, the toughest, best division is the AFC West with the undefeated Broncos AND Chiefs, the Chargers have won gone on the road and scored some major victories and the Raiders are not bottom feeders as long as former Saints coach Dennis Allen is being allowed to take charge of the team...

Our No. 1 biggest threat for the top seed in the National Conference is ourselves...

The No. 2 and No. 2a biggest threats in the NFC would be the Seahawks and the 49ers (if Kaepernick gets going)...

Seattle will be the main contender. Beating them in their stadium is hard to do (& we know that). But we will have to do that at some point.

I really could see us anywhere from 11-5 to 14-2. That Seattle game could end up being an extremely big deal. We can beat Seattle in the dome I don't think we can beat them there in the playoffs. Dallas is the best team in the east and will win it, and they're not a push over, but we can beat them in the dome.

That Seattle game is even more difficult because they're coming off their bye week. I can guarantee a loss there.
Seattle will lose to san fran in san fran, but other than that I don't see them losing more than one more. We almost have to go 13-3 or 14-2 to have home field throughout. We need to keep winning.

It will be tough to get home field through... but I am hopeful. Number 2 seed we have a very good shot at, but number one will be challenging..

The only reason the Saints lost to the seapigeons is because Brees & Co turned into a turnover machine and the defense missed the plane.

Even with all that, the Saints STILL almost won that game. So I am not guaranteeing a loss to ANY team on the schedule.

We should hopefully get some players back from injury, like Victor Butler and
Lance Moore.

I read an article that said the NFC championship game will most likely be decided by whether or not it's played in Seattle or New Orleans. I believe that's a very true statement.

There is a stat about the Saints that, since 2006, the Saints have only lost 2 games when, at any point in a game, the Saints got up by 10 points.

I remember one was against the Bucs in the 'Dome late in the year and the Saints led at halftime by 10.

I don't remember what the other one was.
