Coaching Situation
 

You hear people say time and time again that a team is a reflection of the coach. You always see Haslett cursing at the refs, getting in the face of opposing players, and just acting very undisciplined. What do we see in his team....a VERY undisciplined team in EVERY aspect of the game. Penalties, turnovers, defensive breakdowns seem never ending! Everyone may think I'm crazy, but I'd love to see the return of Mora or a coach like him. The Saints teams then were disciplined, and didn't make many mistakes. As long as Mora wouldn't bring Carl Smith back with him, a coach that does more than TALK about being disciplined would be welcomed, at least by THIS lifelong Saints fan!!

Welcome shreveportsaint and I might tend to agree on the discipline detail. This has gone on long enough. Hell I\'d vote to take on George Patton as head coach if he were alive. As far as Mora,I never thought he was a bad coach but I do think our present Offensive co-ordinator is Carl Smith in a Mike McCarthy suit.

Coaching Situation
 

You make a good point, Shreveportsaint. I used to think that a former player as coach would be a good thing. Now I\'m not so sure. Maybe being a former player has made Haslett to willing to stick with players that aren\'t playing up to their capability; maybe too hesitant to pull them. We certainly need a coach that can be disciplined and instill discipline in his players. If a player keeps jumping offsides or such, then the coach must have the guts to chew them out and even pull them for a few plays to ensure they get the message. I\'m not sure Haslett can do this. He seems to be too loyal; too loyal to players who often play rather mediocre and too loyal to coaches who just can\'t get the job done.
