We gave them a load of opportunities. Key word is WE

Sh*tty clock management, like us taking a time out immediately following the pats did? Just run the ball.

Explain how a loss to a non divisional, non conference opponent comes back to haunt you.

This was a big loss emotionally, not to mention we lost Graham and Jordan went out for a while.

I don't think it will set us back too much. Hopefully SP gives Carmichael the play calling again like in 2011.

The only thing I'm worried about is our record head to head* against Seattle's at the end of the season. I'm encouraged by the 49ers' play right now, might give the hawks a fit and give them another L, but I really want home field through the playoffs.

Playcalling is the problem huh? Brees misses Toon. Brees throws a pick in the opponents red zone. Brees is off practically all day. He lucks up when Stills makes an amazing play. Throws the fade to Colston. Why? Who knows. But it's play calling...no. Its those days when Brees has retarded ass decision making. That and fake penalties at key times.

Touche, that pass to Toon was brutal. But that fade to Colston at the end there was a bad call. It was like they were using 'Ask Madden' play calling.

yep he has a game or two every year like this. not his best outing by far.

play calling was an issue. first half was loaded with to many plays to force the ball into players. Maybe Drew like Tom is not comfortable with the young WR yet. this is a game if Lance was around i think he would have had a great game

Brees didn't have to throw the fade. Colston wasn't the only man running a route.

Greer on a WR in the back corner of the endzone by himself on the last play of the game
Is just wrong.

Brees forces that **** on his own. Its his job to decipher the defense and throw the best option. Not the coaches.

True, he had his backs open underneath all day. He always does, and when he goes to his check down routes our offence rolls.
What I'm saying is that whole drive and the one that followed were far too predictable. Run some short passes on 1st down and get a little outside the box, not just dive up the middle for 2 yards and then go for a bomb.

+1 and after watching the replay on the post game, we had at least THREE defenders in the MIDDLE of the field covering no one. Awful defense at the end.

you know with all this ranting back and forth what do think about Drew's faith in the young WRs. in a game like this in the past Drew would turn to Lance in a heart beat. At times it just appeared drew was hesitant to throw the ball. Very un Drew like. i am starting to really give this thought some credit as to why Drew looked so off. Comfort level is just not there yet when depending on the young bucs.

So maybe SP and Drew were both thrown for lope when NE forced us to go to our young WR. just killed our rhythm all together. no that is some thing NE would do. take Colston and Grahm out and take advantage of Lance Moore not playing

I can see us having the same record as Seattle after all is said and done with Seattle getting the tie breaker cause I think they beat us head to head. I don't see us winning up in Seattle sorry. I don't . Hope I'm wrong it would be a nice birthday gift to me since its my b-day that day. I'm just saying we will look back on this game knowing we let this one get away. Still a lot of football left and a lot can happen.

I recorded it but i"m too depressed to watch it and I dont want to go on NFL network to hear people talk about it. Perhaps later in the week... A loss isn't always the worst thing in the world though. It stiffens the sinews :)

So who else does Seattle lose to?

What tie breaker do you speak of? Home field advantage?

They are looking pretty sketchy. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped a game in SF and perhaps elsewhere...well maybe that's it.

I cant see us knocking them over in Seattle, hence double 14-2s, if we're lucky to get that far.

Knocking Seattle over in Seattle would be so sexy, however.
