Re: Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his foot
Is it just me or is it taking a long time to hear about the results of the MRI?

I suppose this was a humbling week for Graham and his salary negotiations then. I suppose he should get paid at least as much as the best though. It seems like he should've made a few of those catches, but was kind of hot-dogging it, one-handing the ball. But let's face it, the offense started very sluggishly, then the last two series they totally changed tactics, ran the ball six times. They knew they needed a first down, at least one, and I think maybe a screen pass, or something rather than a straight run should've been called, even with the interception risk. Runs have been shut down somewhere between 0 and -1 yards all year. |

Re: Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his foot
I was expecting to have heard something about the scan by now!
Whats going on? Oh! and one other thing about the Saints v Pats game! One of the main reasons that the Pats were productive on offence was the fact that they used the "hurry up" so often. Why don't we do that so as the oppositions defence doesn't get chance to settle?? Just a thought! :-) |

The Saints thrive on ball control and time of possession. We string endless drives together, sometimes getting 1st down on 3rd and long. It's agonizing for opposing defenses and a little demoralizing. I think the hurry-up is effective in certain situations when the defense is in a bad defensive scheme, but only with wrong personnel on the field. Running it out the blue is difficult even for seasoned pro teams because it makes for a mixed tempo drive, which eventually throws the offense off rhythm. |

Graham's injury is not believed to be serious per our favorite source ESPN.

Re: Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his foot
The recipe for the nullification of Jimmy Graham has now been codified.
He has peaked. How about that GROUND GAME, huh!!?? Alaska |

No way you can stop Jimmy Graham, unless you have the chess pieces to do it....Jimmy Graham has been shut out before, against Pittsburgh in '11. He is still in the top receivers/tight ends in the entire NFL. Maybe you don't want Jimmy to succeed, but it takes a very special skill set to do what Talib did to him the other day. |
Re: Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his foot
Talib stopped Jimmy because the refs allowed him to mug Graham 10-15 yards past the line of scrimmage, that's not a game plan on how to stop Graham, it just goes to show that the NFL wants to protect their "golden" franchise in the Pats

Talib may indeed shut down Graham for the 1st quarter, but Payton would have plan B ready to make them pay for it, and BB would have to alter his anti-Graham strategy. I think Colston and Moore would be a major players. Its a chess game that came down to the final 5 seconds, and Bilicheat barely won. I honestly believe if we played the Pats 10 times, we'd go 6-4. |
Re: Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his foot
Yes Billechek developed a plan to take Graham out of the game with one of the best dbs in the game that other teams will use as a blue print to contain Graham and as we speak Payton is developing a game plan to break that blue print. He is one of the best Offensive coaches to ever coach in the NFL, and for that exact reason.

Still no news on jimmy smh

There is no way Jimmy gets mugged like that at home. Trying not to cry about it but home field advantage has an effect on the refs whether it be subconscious or not. |

Even if Jimmy's whole head had fallen off, in front of everyone on live national TV, and rolled around the field spurting blood, Sean wouldn't even mention it until end of the day Wednesday, and then he'd say "Jimmy Graham has a head" and move on to the next question -- that's just how it is with him. |

I would venture to say its a pretty freakin integral part of the plan. :clown::bng: Meanwhile we will smoke the Falcons again. |
Re: Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his foot
Jimmy is amazing but he pigeon holes our offense. If he can't go I would not at all be surprised if we start putting up 40 pts. What's harder for defenses, covering up a couple of players or not knowing where the ball is going at any given time...I would say the later.

We have several more good players not being fully utilized. People say, well, Ingram needs more carries, ok then what about receivers? They are suppose to play just as good with limited opportunities...I'm not buying that. Get them involved and their production and ability improve. Toon, Stills, Meachem...we also have a couple more decent TE's. Now who are they going to jam and double team? It makes it harder not knowing. You can't just key in on a specific player anymore. |

Just hoping he's OK... I rather sit him and he be back vs Sea/Sf than play him at less than 100% and end up like droppy white. |
