Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
Just our luck. They finally get a QB just in time to give him a tune up game before we play them.
|
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
one game at a time and stay healthy the next month or so is going to be brutal
|
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
Just watched the Seahawks dismantle Arizona. Seattle's defense is freakish good. Our offense is obviously better than the Cardinals. But, not looking forward to that game. Ugh.

Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
This is where the rubber meets the road, and after weeks 8/9, the road starts getting bumpier ....

Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
Hope something happens in Seattle to slow them down. Then we have one more win in the division to secure homefield advantage whatever that number is. Of course beat San Fran. If there was a senerio that we beat Seattle and lose to the Whinners that might work out also even though I hate to say that.

Only game I'm concerned with is Seattle.

Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
Nothing too impressive about Seattle last night.
With out Palmers 2 INTs (which he has thrown every week since week 3) the scoreboard looks a lot different. Nothing too impressive about Seattle's Defense either. Our defense did a lot better against Palmer and the Cards. |
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
It is what it is, one week at a time, remember they all quality opponents that on any given Sunday could upset the Saints
|
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
I was thinking the same thing, Oak. I wasn't real impressed with SEA against the Cards. I didn't see anything spectacular or game changing. Palmers two picks made a lot of difference on that scoreboard.

Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
I'm sorry but the Bills have a serious QB situation. First string is out, second string is hurt and hobbled. Bringing in Flynn is a great idea, but expecting him to come from another team, another system, and NOT experiencing some communication troubles is a bit much. It just doesn't fly well in the NFL. I think this is a weakness a lot on here are not considering at all.
If Brees went down and McCown played and was hurt, and we picked up Flynn who potentially could start, would you feel confident the team was even close to 80%?? The people on this board would be peeing their panties and NEVER predict would could win anything. Just think about it. Serious advantage Saints with the Bills QB situation. |
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
The Browns put 37 on the Bills. I know the Saints have lost games to crap teams in the recent past but still. The Bills are a 2 win team for a reason folks.
Random note: the early line on the Bills game is Saints -13.5 |

only 2 teams with winning records, and some crappy 3-3 teams (Jets, Rams) we should be okay |
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
10 games left and I can't see us losing more than 4.
We'll lay an egg in at least one, but will win most of them. I said 11-5 before the season started, but I think its more likely 12-4 now. 7-3 down the stretch is certainly realistic. We'll be favored in at least 8 of them, maybe 9. |
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
You won't want to be a Saints fan in Seattle if we beat them.

It's no wonder that Seattle or the NFL had UC cops in the game against the 9ers. Every team has some loser fans but Seattle fans were terrible the last game I attended a game there. People are losing their grasp on reality. |
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
NONE of the remaining games scare me, Saints should be favored in all but SEA game. I really want to go to the ATL game, never seen football played at the circus before
|
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
We just might see Matt Flynn play again.

But Seattle's defense not too impressive huh? After 6 games, they are #2 in the league in total defense and their secondary is nicknamed "The Legion of Boom". But, hey, I sure hope for our sake, that you are the expert. |

Brian Baldinger called The FailClowns a mess, and the Bucs a 'hot mess'. Also, said that Revis Island is not open. LOL.

Too many things can change from week to week. I can't look past this week.

What this game boils down to is can the Seahawks stop our offense? Their defense is very comparable to ours in regards to points allowed with just over 1/2 a point separating them. Our defense is better in both 3rd and 4th down percentages.. Their defense has also given up 140+ more yards in penalties than ours. We also have them in ToP. Wilson rarely has over 30 passing attempts and even then, better Defenses (Colts/49ers/Texans) have kept his Comp% down around 50%. Seattles offense is lopsided and if we stop Lynch... They are irrelevant. At worst or best depending on how you look it is its a fairly even match up with the exception that they run better and we pass better. |
Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
we might get some help from SF and our buddies in ATL, but it really will come down to us winning in SEA. Only other real hope is Giants finally man up and play for pride on 12/15

#5 now, and 30th in passing. I am not going Clutch on Thad Lewis = He has played a total of 2 games -9 sacks - lost 1 fumble - thrown 1 INT - AVE 209 passing/game and 124 yards rushing/game. Those 9 sacks were against the Dolphins and Bengals who normally AVR 3 sacks per game. The Dolphins sacked Drew twice.. with our suspect o-line. Their Defense is allowing 25.4 points/game and 20 yards shy of allowing 400 yards/game. The Bills are coming to the dome... This has massacre written all over it. That being said, beyond the stats I have a deep seeded hatred for the Buffalo Bills that goes back 20+ years... See my Platoon Sergeant when I was stationed at Ft. Polk was a huge Bills fan and when they lost we got smoked every Monday morning. Years later SSG Jackson was cutting his lawn and fell under his mower losing his foot. Karma can be quite the wicked woman. The Bills just can not keep up. |

Re: Breaking Down Saints Remaining Schedule
I'm just figuring on losing to the Seahawks. If we win great but anybody who discounts how good they are, especially in Seattle, is kidding themselves.
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, we got off to a great start but we're not head and shoulders above the competition. We have real issues on the OL and at WR. We can beat anybody on the schedule but none of our games is a gimme. We're going to need smart coaching and disciplined play as well as some luck with injuries. HFA would be a remarkable achievement. We've seen Brees and Payton do remarkable things in the past though so it's definitely a possibility. |
