maybe because it would be hell to have to play a player twice a year who thoroughly knows our defensive playbook...

How is that hell? He wouldn't face our defense.

Seriously; it's not that hard to figure out?!

He can spill all his knowledge to the offense/coordinator and they can game-plan against our defense. Not to mention any knowledge about the offense(audible calls, etc...) he may have could give the defense a slight edge.

Just like Fujita did with the Browns a couple of years ago...

True, a positively mediocre Scott Fujita gave us fits once. Never did much else though.

After that span in the 90's when we faced our former players at Atlanta and San Fran, each time when they returned to KILL us, that was enough for me to say I'd rather our old players go far away. Even if Tez showed up for 1 game against a division rival and suddenly gets 4 sacks, that's 4 sacks more than I want to face from a former player.

We apparently have learned our lesson and have established 2 open channels for moving and disposing of former players:

1) Miami (East coast and AFC) and
2) Oakland (West coast and AFC).

I think it's just great policy to have these channels open. Otherwise you have Atlanta or TB sitting there ready to pick off anyone and pay them 500k with the hopes they can help them steal at least 1 game from us. Just sayin.
