Mark Ingram trade
I was reading on NFL network the top 10 players that maybe traded before the deadline and they had Ingram at number 8. Do you guy's think we will trade him before the deadline?

Re: Mark Ingram trade
Not a chance.

Re: Mark Ingram trade
I doubt it, but it will depend on what the Saints want!

Re: Mark Ingram trade
We couldn't get a 7th based on what the other 31 teams have seen

Re: Mark Ingram trade
I would be ok with Saints trading him.

Re: Mark Ingram trade
I would trade my wife to have all these Ingram threads deleted.

Re: Mark Ingram trade
We need to trade most of our offensive line. I haven't seen anybody running the rock very well this year. There is no way all our running backs suck.

Re: Mark Ingram trade
What value would he have now?!?

Re: Mark Ingram trade
good question JP. i could see a conditional third round pick given all based on his playing time next year.
player in exchange? not wasting my time there |

When is the deadline again?

Re: Mark Ingram trade
I look at it like this. On one level, I don't think it matters whether they trade him or not. He's irrelevant. I feel like the writing is on the wall after that goal line run in Tampa Bay, that no matter what else happens, he is definitely gone after his contract is up -- he will NOT be back for a second long term deal as a Saint. There's no way he is the answer long term -- it simply can't keep on going like this.
So,this year trade, next off season trade, next year trade, or end of next year we let him walk - take your pick, doesn't really matter. Whatever makes the most sense for getting the most for him, I'm cool with that. We don't HAVE to trade him for a pack of chips right now, it's not a fire sale situation, but we don't HAVE to do anything other than keep paying him to ride the pine. He's not panning out, but if there's no glaring immediate team need that is instantly fixable by a trade (no one will trade a good O-lineman for a running back, who then needs the good O-lineman to block for him), then it doesn't have to happen right now this minute. But Ingram is the one sole guy in this backfield right now who is DEFINITELY not gonna retire as a Saint. |
Re: Mark Ingram trade
Do it. Cap space & draft picks. Or some O line help.
|
Re: Mark Ingram trade
as much as hes been inactive, I believe they will trade him.
|
Re: Mark Ingram trade
Pierre continues to be our best RB and Khiry continues to prove himself capable of relief duty. As far as I'm concerned... Bye bye Ingram. Even if he isn't traded he's an afterthought in my mind.
|
Re: Mark Ingram trade
I would just get rid of him to get rid of the cap space. no need to get anything else. That in and of itself would be brilliant of us
|
Re: Mark Ingram trade
Trade him in the offseason if necessary. To do so now, with the limited market, unless Mark wants out, would be pointless. He still could be needed and useful for the Saints this season.

Re: Mark Ingram trade
If we could get a 3rd or 4th, maybe even better, I see SP and mickey pulling the trigger
|
Re: Mark Ingram trade
Unless we're getting a third round pick, I just don't think the hit to our RB depth is worth it...

If we can get a third then maybe otherwise why bother, his value wont be any lower come draft night. Its always good to have bait fir the draft

Re: Mark Ingram trade
All of you should try a little roll play, answer this question for me.
You are the GM of any other team, I have a presently injured RB that has a career ave of 3.8 YPC, not a great blocker, cant punch it through for 2 yards that has been seen, has shown no example of great vision in his career in the NFL, and has exhibited a recurring turftoe injury... What are you willing to part with for him? I would offer you a conditional 4th at best. |
