Re: David Hawthorne vying to keep starting with Jonathan Vilma’s return
I don't think Thad remembered his last name for 5 minutes after that hit.

Re: David Hawthorne vying to keep starting with Jonathan Vilma’s return
Vilma wasn't "Vilma" before bountygate, we were questioning his tank in 2011... Hawthorne still has a full tank.
I will throw something out there besides how well Hawthorne has been preforming. Anyone remember what Hawthorne did before the Saints... 4 Years on the Seattle Defense and we have yet to face them with Hawthorne playing. Hawthorne keeps his starting roll and Vilma steps in for breathers.:bng: |
Re: David Hawthorne vying to keep starting with Jonathan Vilma’s return
^ Pretty much in agreement there, although I think Vilma could still be valuable in nickel setups. He's not the player he used to be but he can still run in coverage better than Lofton and Hawthorne, I would imagine.

Work him in rotation and see what he has.

Gotta stick with the hot hand.. the d is gelling. Vilma would be the option when Haw gets tired or to keep him fresh.
I'm more worried about who will be cut when the activate Vilma/Butler. |
