NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

NFL midseason predictions: Varied opinions on NFC North, West - NFL.com

NFL.com (anal)yst Ian Rappenport has the Saints missing the playoffs - and this is based on current records, not preseason.

What a delusional hater...

Was that the same guy who said the Falcons we're playoff bound? We've proved the analyst wrong so far.

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

I'm not convinced this is him being a delusional hater, however I'd happily take a bet against him! Have you seen the Panthers remaining schedule for a start? Good lord! Falcons twice, Saints twice and Patriots make up 5 of 9! Not easy at all.

In fairness he is right that our O-line is really not all that smart right now, but if you play to a 6-1 record with an O-line that needs work, you are unlikely to miss the playoffs! :)

It's kind of funny how our team has so many haters in the media. And make no mistake, that is nothing but a hater. For whatever reason, there are always a number of people who desperately want the Saints to fall flat on their faces.

And that's not because of bounty nonsense either, it was this way well before any of that happened.

He also picks the Bears to win the North.

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

All about Ian Rapoport and his picks:
Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers;
Wild Cards: Packers, Seattle Seahawks.

The guy is believing that
Carolina will do better overall in common games than the Saints - the 2 games between the 2 teams stick out
and then
Saints losing to Seahawks.

His prediction becomes seriously unstuck when the Saints win 1 or more of these 3 games.

Basically he has a serious fixation about the Saints (negatively) and about the 49ers, Carolina, and Chicago (absurdly).

I reckon we don't have to worry about him after week 14.

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

We'll lose one game by seasons end ... But we will embarrass Seattle ... The 2nd comes to whomever we seem worthy of a late bye week preparing for the playoffs ...

Seriously ... Were 6-1 and the 1 came at the last second , HOF Tom Brady at his best with the refs on his side and Sean Payton having a bad day...

If that's what it takes for us to lose , I don't see us losing many more games ... Add In we're getting healthy again on d , stills is blossoming in front of our own two.

We won't play a better QB than what we have all season perhaps until the Super Bowl. Match that with a 4th ranked scoring defense , you'll be at least in a few more superbowls

I think someone like to stir the pot and create hits for his articles on NFL.com. End of story. I could go on and on about what's wrong with his predictions but that's exactly what he wants me to do.

Exactly. We click the link, they get paid, we come here to ***** about it and he remains gainfully employed. Saying controversial things gets people talking and generates $.

He is entitled to his opinion. Even if it is WRONG

Rapaport is second only to Rosenthaal when it comes to stupidity. He's one of those types that think the chiefs will win the afc west.

Analcyst.

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

He's just trying to generate a headline. The Panthers offense isn't good enough to score more than 13 pts on us and I know we can score at least 20 on the panthers.

Stupid is as stupid talks. Is this thread really still going on? Do we really care what some talking head that makes more than three of us put together says?

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

Did you see the rest of his picks. He picked the bears to win the north(no one else), the 49ers to win the west(with only a couple others), titans to get the last wild card(no one else), seahawks to get the last wild card(no one else). His MVP was Brady(no one else), his droy was Mathieu(no one else), his oroy was Allen(yes, Allen). He only agreed with everyone else on cowboys, all the AFC division winners(which was near unanimous except KC picked by 1), chiefs, Manning for opoy, and Reid for coy.

Do not disagree. But they need the 2 games I reckon.
My biggest concern is that divisional games are tough on the players

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

We've beaten 2 common opponents that the panthers have lost to. Split the series with them this year worst case and we will stay ahead of them. No way we will have a worst record then them.

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

We'll be favored in all but 2 games, @Seatlle and probably @Carolina.

Carolina will be the dog in at least 3, and they might be dogs @Atlanta if the Falcons get healthy.

@San Francisco
New England
@New Orleans
@Atlanta

Re: NFL.com analyst says no playoffs

Carolina is a 6 loss team - at best.

Really I'm thinking 9-7 or 8-8.

They will lose to NE, us (at least in the Dome), the 49ers for sure.

Add to that they will probably lose the other game to us, the dolphins, or once to the falcons...
