Keys to Game 9: Jets vs. Saints
The (4-4) New York Jets have surpassed mainstream expectations this year, playing far better than the comical preseason projections. Nevertheless, any playoff push will likely hinge upon the results of week 9: a win leaves them sitting pretty going into the bye week, but a loss would necessitate an almost perfect second half to have a chance. For a rebuilding team, seeing growth in the young guys is probably equally important as a playoff push, but obviously both would be nice. Unfortunately, their week 9 opponent is probably their toughest matchup of the season—a Metlife Stadium showdown with the (6-1) New Orleans Saints. The Saints are an offensive powerhouse that would present difficulties for any secondary, but will be especially challenging for a Jets defense that has allowed a 92.7 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks (11th worst in the league).

Interesting. Hopefully Cam & Junior have an awesome game.

Re: Keys to Game 9: Jets vs. Saints
I would think a win against the Bungals last week would have meant a heck of a lot more than a win this week. I know they're rebuilding, but in the scheme of things they need mathematical conference wins more than morale boosters.

Here's another one:
"... The Saints [ defense is ] the seventh-stingiest in yards (332.4 allowed per game) and third-stingiest in points (17.1 allowed per game). Rex’s defense was horrible last week in a 49-9 loss at Cincinnati." Re: Keys to Game 9: Jets vs. Saints
Geno smith makes bad decisions and errant throws, we need to take advantage of them on defense
He gets roughly two seconds to throw the ball, our D line should tear it up |
Re: Keys to Game 9: Jets vs. Saints
We are on the road so I always think those are tough games. That said, November is usually where we start to hit our stride (at least the last few seasons) under SP.

We gave this game to them with more unforced errors than any game I can remember since the Cleveland game 3 years ago. What the hell is wrong with our offense? |

Nick toon could not catch a cold naked in the north pole Brees is throwing behind receivers, causing tipped passes or he just stares down jimmy graham until the pass rush get there No running game and no committment to even try a running game PLAYCALLING - 4th and inches, you call a reverse to our 3rd string TE DLP and grubbs are getting *****ed every week |

Brees hit several WR's in their hands and it was tipped up and picked twice. That happens once in every 10-12 games. I'm not really all that worried about that. No running game is a legit concern. I was also disappointed in the reverse. DLP is awful, just awful. |
