1 Attachment(s)
Former New Orleans Saints greats Archie Manning, Rickey Jackson and Willie Roaf will become the first members of the team's Ring of Honor, the organization announced Friday. The three players will be recognized at halftime of the Saints' Week 10 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 10.
"We, as an organization, have given thoughtful consideration and devotion in an effort to properly honor the contributions of the many great people that have proudly represented the New Orleans Saints and the City of New Orleans," Saints owner Tom Benson said in a statement. "We are excited to induct the deserving members of the Class of 2013 and allow our fans an opportunity to honor the efforts and contributions that these men have made to our franchise. LINKBACK |

I'd expect Morten to be in the next round - maybe Deuce (who is my personal fav) too - both would be well-deserved.

The only ring Carl Smith will be associated with is the one in a toilet bowl!

Carl Smith wouldn't say it, but according to Hebert, it was Jim Mora not Carl Smith who limited, restricted the playbook and the Saints success... Hebert went on about Mora as the ultra-conservative one and that Carl Smith was a loyal assistant coach who wouldn't throw Mora under the bus as Mora had done to some of his assistants (i.e. Sidwell, Smith, et al)... I use to really get frustrated with Smith's play-calling; when I heard that exchange, I tried to call into the show with no success as I wanted the radio station to put the discussion, exchange to catalog for Saints fans to reference... Sometimes we never get the true story till later; in the words of the former coach, "you think you know, but you really don't know..." Well, we now know Mora limited the very success he was trying to build, and so it was an enlightening show nonetheless... Great Selections! But, No Saints Who Went to the Falcons for Five Years... Sorry Morten, but you broke our hearts going to the Falcons even if Benson was a jackhole for not paying you what you did deserved... |
