Cruize, I was thinking the same thing. From my view point, I thought the lack of using Ingram more often in the short to intermediate passing attack was another missed opportunity to successfully move the ball down the field.

Ingmrams Comp%

2013 0
2012 60% 4.4 Yards/Rec
2011 84.6% 4.2 Yards/Rec

His Yards/Rec are dismal.. Those are decent numbers on the ground.

2013 - PTs ave 7.4, Jed Collins 4.9 YPC, Sproles 9.9

Ivory was 7.5 YPC

The overall point is to be less predictable. I saw Ingram WIDE open many times last year for that 4+ yard play, which I'll take every time, and instead Brees forced the ball downfield. Sometimes resulting in an interception. Take what the defense gives you. Dumping the ball off creates more openings down the field later. Running the ball more makes the offense less predictable. Defenses can't just pin their ears back and attack like the Jets did yesterday. Make the lineman and linebackers play the run and make tackles. Grubbs was a big reason the Ravens Ray Rice was so successful. Evans is a beast. Strief is a mauler. Let them wear the defense down instead of asking them to standup, backup, and dance 40+ times a game.

Evans, Strieff, Grubs, DLP, Brown... Have you watched these guys this year? Did you see the reverse in the final minutes of the game against the Jets? Josh Hill ran his first reverse, you cant get any less predictable than that. He was crushed by Quintin Couples 8 yards in the back field. He ran right through the area of Strief, Evans and DLP.

DLP is actually the worst on our line, between the penalties and missed assignments, he is wreaking havoc on out offense.

At the end of the day what do you think the reason Drew throws where he throws is? There has to be one.

Watching this GB/Chicago game. Could you imagine if Ingram ran like Eddie Lacy? Jeez, we'd be unstoppable.

Could you imagine if the Saints OLine could open holes like the Packers OLine?

This is true, but Lacy is running over men like they're little kids. He runs north - south, lowers his shoulder, delivers hits, and keeps his legs churning until the whistle blows.
