LOL some of ya'll crack me up, but hey it's a message board so vent.
Don't know about all that season over stuff, tell the Saints that in 2011 when we lost the Rams - here's my take.

DAMN SLOPPY play on offense. That includes QB, O-line, wide rec drops, bobbled balls etc. Nothing consistently bad, but failures at different points on offense.

Play call is only as bad as your players are bumbling and dropping the balls and throwing behind receivers.

Oline, I blame the less because Jets d-line is crazy good.

Defense, I just can't blame them! They hand the ball off to the offense and all I see is 3 and out or drop drop drop, pass behind the back, mental errors.

THAT OFFENSE NEEDS TO CLEAN UP THEIR ACT!!!

I agree he's trusted and should be but there are other guys out there. Just seems its becoming a one man receiving corps out there

Sean Payton doesn't control ball distribution. Drew Brees does. Jimmy Graham is NEVER the only player running a route on a play. Brees usually always has a check down option open. He just doesn't take them as much as he used to. Ever since we got Graham he began force feeding him the ball. And we got down and abandoned the run game to conserve clock. Which worked. Just didn't execute on the last drive. 3rd and 19 and Brees lofts it up even though its 4 down time? Instead of trying to get 4th and decent, he throws it up for grabs. This was all about bad execution. Even on defense.

The thing that annoys me is we were really running the ball well today and they just wouldn't stick with it. When your top two running backs are averaging 4.3 ypc between them you need to be pounding that rock. PT looked amazing today and if we find more ways to get him the ball I think we could've won.

Evans will still be here, but he does need to rededicate himself...

Yes, Drew is on the decline, that is a reality of age and his past injury...

But Brees in decline is still better than anything we have on the roster or that is available in free agency...

But, no, Brees is not worth 20mil/year - only Payton Manning has played that way this year...

And an honest conversation needs to be had with Drew about a reduction of his salary cap hit and the future of acquiring players to continue success for the franchise...

I dont see anyone trading for Grubbs and his $9.1ml salary,we cant cut him with it costing $9ml in dead money in 2014 and even $6ml in 2015.

I know Loomis is good with the cap but he has been pushing the salaries back and back for the past few years and its now going to bite him in the backside if he doesnt sort things out.I get that the idea seems to be stay competitive while Brees is still here but at some point somethings got to give.
Its either sticking with it and hoping that we draft well enough to fill holes and hope players take pay cuts or dare i say it get ready to start moving players on and building from stratch with additional picks and vastly reducing the cap

Running must be paramount next week against Dallas. We are a bit too pass happy for my taste ... on the other hand the Cows are one of the worst in pass defense so far this year. Worst d performance (shedding blocks, tackling etc) this season but hopefully they get it together next week.

Regroup, refocus and get back to fundamentals. Hopefully that is the last 'ugly game' we have this year.

Should be an interesting match up next week.

I can't disagree with this.

What I will say is, the Saints under Sean Payton have never been known as a ball control, running team. What I do notice is imbalance in pass vs. run. We start throwing every down in the 1st quarter!

I think we CAN run the ball. We ran into this in 2010, where in 2009 we had balance of pass vs. run, like 60/40. In 2010 pass vs. run was like 70/30 or less. We MUST try to gameplan the run and not just run when it's 3 and 2!!! (and sometimes then we just throw the ball)

Shared Loss, Including Coach Payton...

No excuse for not running the ball more, none.

Running the ball allows your offensive line to body punch their defensive line and wear them down.

It also allows your quarterback to settle down...

So is there a Lesson to be learned from the Grubbs signing?!?

True dat. Anyways, 6-2 and we're still on top of the south. We're gonna be fine.
