Cowboys

After seeing our Oline today and knowing what Ware has done to us in the past I am feeling nervous about this Cowbiys game. We know we go back and forth with these guys but Cowboys are on a roll. If we lose to the boys we are going to be in dire straits with Carolina twice, niners, and Seahawks. plus! don't forget the damn rams which seem to always beat us.

I do not have a good feeling about this team going into the second half of the season.

I think we've seen this before, we're just throwing the ball too much. We've seen Sean do this before. I believe we can actually RUN the ball, because we do it's effecting - we just STOP running or don't even start running from the 1st quarter.

If we gameplan some nice running plays to mix it up, and do some REAL play action passes (not just that little lip service playaction we've been doing), I think we'll see a totally different team and outcome.

I know it is kinda crazy, but depending on what our offense looks like the next couple weeks will dictate our record

If our offense plays like they did today, after dallas we still have SF, seahawks, Panthers who are playing great x2, tampa and atlanta

Tough schedule if our offense comes out flat again

Our next two games are in the Dome, offense should be rolling

Man I hope so. If we win the next two I will be optimistic. We need a surprise for these teams - and that surprise has to be an improved running game. I just wish we would unleash Khiry.

Thats true, still very frustrating to have a Jekyll and Hyde offense though

Awesome at home, turnover machine on the road

Great teams can be more consistent than that, It's like we never know which version of our offense will turn up

Remember 2011 - 9 game winning streak, offense averaging around 40 points a game, we need that to happen again

Remember what happened in the playoffs? Anything can happen, just get in

The next two weeks are absolutely critical. A loss in either of those games would be beyond devastating.

Embarrassing, really. It was the Jets. The Cowboys play us like it's a playoff game. Every time.

Yeah i can lol That's what I'm most concerned about though, that if the offense from today keeps turning up we won't even get in.

If our offense can only play well at home, we are going to have to have serious football gods on our side to get homefield advantage throughout the playoffs

Even if we did get to the SB, its outside, thats a automatic loss for us lol

Re: Cowboys

Dallas is a roller coaster of a team.. you never know what you are going to get. Lose to bad teams and defeat good teams. Romo will make a great play and then throw an errant pass late in a game to lose... etc, etc.

Saints will regroup, retool, play better next week and DEFEAT the Cowgirls. Preparation will be key.

Not sure whats more embarrassing, how bad we played today or the reaction by members on this board.

Wow, talk about bandwagon fans... and some of you guys make fun of Falcon fans?

This is the one thing that gives me any hope: The team thought today would be a cake-walk and were looking ahead to the Dallas game and the rest of the brutal upcoming schedule.

hopefully that means we'll be hella prepared for the next 8 weeks.

Pointing out obvious flaws and weaknesses of the Saints make people bandwagon fans?? I'm starting to learn that in order to be a real fan I need to sit back and wait for others to voice real concerns and then jump in calling them bandwagon fans with nothing to really contribute of my own.

Sitting here watching the Pat/Steelers game... Remember that pump draw play that we used to run? I wonder why we don't run it anymore? Or screens we were getting good yards but we only ran 2 or 3 the whole game

No, over-reacting to a road loss is what I'm referring to. And there's a lot of that going on. Its why I laugh when our fans make fun of other teams fans. We are every bit as fickle as Falcon, Bucs and Panther fans, even more so since we're probably still a top 5 team in the NFL and judging by our fans' reactions you'd think we just dropped to 3-5.

Maybe it's not over-reacting though. We have shown some very real flaws and I hardly think that stating such observations constitutes over-reacting or being a "bandwagon fan."

Sorry, I was mainly referring to that ridiculous "we are not a superbowl team" crap on another thread and some over reactionary "we suck" posts I'm reading.

Re: Cowboys

... but we're not. Our entire team was outrun today by Chris Ivory.

If we don't develop a run game we won't be going any more than one-deep into the playoffs.

THAT's a FACK JACK.

There's some very questionable coaching going on right now with the offense and lack of real production is what's disturbing.

Can Sean effectively call consecutive run plays, we run for 5 than pass - just no rhythm. Its hard in Sean's offense for a running back to get hot cause he abandon it with a quickness. PT and Sproles are different types of backs and the type of back we really need ran ruff-shot on us today. With no faith in Ingram we will not advance as far as we'd like. Guess it's too much invested in Ingram and we paid the price, Ivory torched us. I like the Robinson kid but he need the reps. Will/Can Sean do it?

Re: Cowboys

You shouldn't have a good feeling going into the second half. Look at the first half. The teams we beat are all ****ty teams for the most part and most of those we barely eeked out at the last minute. None of our wins have looked impressive with the exception of the Cards game. That was our cake walk. The easy part of our season is over and now comes the real NFL contenders. Not to mention the fact that Carolina is looking damn good right now. If our O line keeps getting handled like it has been in the first half there is not going to be many of them left to play down the stretch. A defense like Carolinas is going to absolutely destroy our line. We have had a very smoke and mirrors type season this year.

Re: Cowboys

I agree Dude. A couple of our wins could have went either way.
We just expect to win some of these games by 2 touchdowns or more
and it's just not happening. We've seen some improvement in or defense
but it looks like our offense has started struggling. I'm still waiting to see
some "consistent" play on both sides of the ball from one week to another.
We've seen flashes of good-solid play but no consistency.
Perhaps my expectations were too high with the return of Payton at the helm.
They definitely weren't ready to play, which is what I have come to expect with him.
Slow still can't be coached faster.
We just have to find a way to cover our flaws and bucket our leaks.

you can not play call 3 passes to 1 run without a defense catching on and T - OFF on ya. simple

Totally agree. The way Drew "fakes" a hand-off is lame -- not even mentioning the pass/pass/pass/pass/pass/maybe run (second thought ) pass/ ... etc. till you just want to pull your hair out.

OK, agreed with you up to here "Even if we did get to the SB, its outside, thats a automatic loss for us".

We beat the Bucs outside in --- wait for it --- <GASP> THE RAIN!! LOL

OK, we almost lost, but, hey...:-)

Re: Cowboys

The most annoying thing for me was that we were having success running the ball when we did

PT was gaining 3-4 every run, Ingram went 3 yard, 2 yards, then had a 15 yarder

As soon as we go down a score, it just goes into panic mode

It didn't help that just before the half we were going down to score and Nick Toon thought he played for his dads team and gave cromartie the ball

Re: Cowboys

I bet the Cowboys are who were on the coaches mind; so we'd better torch the Jerry Jones Rodeo Clown show after that debacle in New York...
