Very reminiscent of the Donte Whitner hit on Thomas in the 1st series of the 2011 playoff game. You know, the one where we had a completely healthy Chris Ivory and he did absolutely nothing for us at all.

Toons a second year player, that said this offseason he is "leaps and bounds ahead of where he was last year"

Really looks like it toon

I think with Toon we need to play him consistently. Kenny Stills is proof that increased reps increase production. I would rather we the reps Meachem gets to Toon. I know Toon isn't a burner, but neither is Robert at this stage in his career. Plus since Nick is seen as the successor to Colston, its best to give him the needed playtime to get his confidence and ability up.

Re: Injuries

Toon had his chances while Colston was down and we found out he needs some polishing before he's ready to be Colston's protege.
Injuries has plauged both sides of the ball. Sproles, Colston, and other banged up starters. Jenkins and Harper abscence have hurt our run support on Defense and have taken two chess pieces out of Rob Ryans chessboard. Although Kenny Vaccaro has stepped up, we need him back in that "Slash" role

What to do about Toon? Simple execution mistakes and I don't get it at all. That INT by Cromartie was completely a Toon mistake. Colston get your high paid butt back soon!

He didn't need to dive for that ball either. If he runs through the catch it's a TD.

Only difference between stills and toon is that stills makes the catch and makes the play when he's targeted, toon has all the athletic ability to be a great WR, unfortunately his hands suck - the most important part of being a WR

Stills earned an increase in snaps because he kept making plays, all toon has earned is in a spot on the bench with hartley

Where was all this "Khiry deserves more snaps" SP said that and as soon as ingram came back, made him inactive

Re: Injuries

look i saw toon play in college a good bit. i am stumped as to the quality of play we are seeing out of the kid. it maybe as simple as he is trying to hard. the skills are there. maybe a Valium before the game would help. if not he will be hitting the road. WR has moved way up my draft needs list by mid season. i hope he turns this around.

Re: Injuries

Don't get me started on Hartley. He is getting too easy of a pass with these FG misses. We need to bring in competition to either push him to improve or replace him all together.

Stills also has had more opportunities to prove himself than Toon

Because stills earned them, toon just drops everything thrown his way

Yeah, I must admit of all the guys I thought would step it up a notch, Toon has disappointed me the most. He was supposed to have average speed but great hands. So far neither.

On the other hand, some rookies I thought wouldn't really shine until 2014, Stills has surprised me.

Could you guys imagine what Brees could do with a WR like C. Johnson or Dez...

Re: Injuries

I just read that Ingram had to get an X-ray after the game, per Jim Henderson.

Geez, how bad can it get for the kid?

I think you may see us draft one early or spend some money on one in free agency.

I think we definitely look at O-line and WR as vital needs next year. A kicker wouldn't hurt either. Shankalicious has to go.

Nah I give Toon a pass. Stills has emerged and Toon just hasnt been given as many reps because Stills is having such a great rookie season. Toon will be fine, he just needs to make mistakes and learn from them.

One of the few plays I saw was when the Jets were in the red zone and Vilma apparently tripped while making an attempt to contain Geno from scoring. My guess is that he is still shaking off some rust...

I think both had something in common to.

Both were intended to take the player out as the game plan would heavily involve them thus altering the game plan greatly as we saw.

I think Toon (and the team in general) will get it together, call me an optimist

Re: Injuries

Toon injured his pride and reputation yesterday. Going against his dad's old team, ol' boy was pressing waaaay too hard and it made him look like a dunce. Toon better improve in a hurry, 'cause Colston hasn't been right all year with his nagging injury. Still a rookie considering this is his first year of NFL action, but he better get his butt on some game film and rededicate himself to practicing and playing at a higher level.

Re: Injuries

Toon was a BEAST in preseason, catching some acrobatic balls. I think he need to just relax. He only been activated for 3 games and to be targeted numerous times playing on the field your father played for was probably little too overwhelming. Stills 1st preseason game he made some drops then he came back the next game with glue on his hands. Don't give up on the guy yet, the talent is there.

Re: Injuries

I just think the occasion got to Toon.He is trying to hard to impress in limited reps.Still was making similar drops in the preseason. Toon will come good.
