Who Are The Top NFC Playoff Contenders???
 

Just wondering, who do you think are the top 6 NFC teams at the midway point?

Here's my top 6 at the midway point (approximately)...

1. San Fran
2. New Orleans
3. Green Bay
4. Seattle
5. Carolina
6. Detroit*

*Unfortunately the NFC East will have a team make the playoffs so I guess technically Dallas inches ahead of Detroit, although I think Detroit is the better team.

Add Dallas in this list and then shake in a small bowl. Close your eyes and pick for order. Hey, it's only half way into the season. At this point even a surprise team like Washington could make a run. This is where it gets interesting.

I think Seattle is going to eventually end up the #1 seed because of their cupcakey schedule and having beaten the 49ers....it's possible the 49ers could overtake them (and are probably the better team) but that home/away schedule Seattle has is a stroll in the park.

Right now I'm going with:

6. Dallas (yes, don't puke)

Ok, Dallas blows games but they killed Detroit until they gave the game away and Detroit was able to muster about 40 watts of offense to limp in and win. Trust me, I don't want to add Dallas to this list but they are just there because of NFC East. Carolina nipping on our heals one game back in the division with an awesome defense (as usual). San Fran is playing the best ball right now. Seattle is ONLY #2 because of their record at 8-1. Seattle could easily be 6-2 and I think they have as many or more problems with sloppy play than we do, and their offense can look even worse than ours.

San Fran is #1... and after that you can pretty much interchange teams going forward because it's impossible to know, but San Fran could easily fall to the back of that pack. #7, if Dallas tanks, is Detroit who would be #6 but for the NFC east glitch.
