Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss
1 Attachment(s)
METAIRIE, La. -- One of New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton’s favorite messages to his team is that every week is going to be treated from the outside as either a “crisis or a carnival.” But the team can’t overreact either way after a win or a loss.
Sure enough, that came up several times on Sunday and Monday after the Saints’ 26-20 loss to the New York Jets. And Saints players all vowed they will get back to work and be prepared to host the Dallas Cowboys this coming Sunday night. “We’re fortunate the team was built with character in mind for situations like this -- when people will start looking for the issue, the panic,” offensive tackle Zach Strief said after the game. “They always say there’s crisis or carnival. This is a great time for crisis. We’ve lost the last two on the road, and can we win on the road? That’ll be a big deal. And yet, I think the locker room is built to get better in these situations. To look in the mirror and say, ‘We have to improve. We’ve got to get better and not point fingers and look for reasons outside of that.’” The Saints have historically done a great job of bouncing back from losses. They haven’t lost back-to-back games under Payton since the end of the 2009 season (though they did suffer two losing streaks last year during Payton’s season-long suspension). Re: Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss
Crisis mode, I don't think so. That said, Sean Payton is by and large considered an offensive genius by most. He needs to figure out a way to gain a few inches with our offensive line. If he had, we would still be undefeated.

Apparently he doesn't read this forum.

I don't think so. they knew their weaknesses now the rest of the nfl knows them. now you have 8 games for the coaches to come up with a plan to minimize them.

Re: Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss
I believe one of our best run stoppers isnt even out on the field yet. Walker was a nice play when he was out there not to mention Harper and Jenk.
We switch up our weaknesses it would be like last year all over again lol |
Re: Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss
Not concerned about the D at all.
We need to change our zone blocking scheme, its not working. Also, when is the last time we ran a draw play? Or even handed the ball off out of the shotgun? |

I remember that hand-off to Reggie as Devery came around for the end-around. That play worked a lot. I haven't seen it in a long time. Sometimes we'd hand it off to the RB, sometimes pitch it to Devery... I loved that play. |

I want a smashmouth, in your face, up the gut, blow some MF'er up run game!!! Give it to me NOW.
On the other hand, I notice improvement in our run game with PT and KR. Yay. But, still not consistent and there is an obvious lack of commitment. |

We might get good results out of Robinson and even Cadet. |
Re: Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss
Crisis mode...when you are 4-0 in the NFC, 2-0 in the division, and 2-2 against the AFC East. Panic button pushed.

Re: Saints not in ‘crisis’ mode after loss
crisis mode is for yuppies, not for men who've qualified to play in the NFL
they don't freak out and get yuppified during a crisis. applying your mentality to their world doesn't amount to much. cut that yuppie nonsense out would ya? :^p |
