"Payton said the 31-year-old linebacker didn’t have any setbacks, but it was clear that in 12 snaps Sunday, he wasn’t sufficiently recovered from offseason knee surgery to make a difference. “The feeling on both of our parts was that what he’s used to and accustomed to playing, at a certain speed and a certain level and certainly what we’ve seen, still wasn’t there. But he’s progressing,” Payton said. “It was more of just an overall knowing we’ve got eight weeks left in the season, and is he going to be able to progress enough to where he’s comfortable and we’re comfortable enough with his progress?" |

Very happy that he has a ring as a Saint. Although he didnt reach legendary status, he's a Saint through and through and he knows it.

Re: Saints Place Vilma on IR
Vilma was done 3 years ago, he played well when healty but has not been that way for a long time. This is just another example of the Saints front office holding on to a player or players far to long. I wish he could have stayed healthy when we run a 4-3 base D it would have been at least 1 position we did not have to worry about. Thanks for your good years.

Re: Saints Place Vilma on IR
Does this free up a roster spot and if so who is on?

So let me see if I understand this, we let someone go to make a roster spot to let Vilma come off IR because we wanted to test him in 12 plays and then put him back on IR? The FO cant judge his speed and recovery in practice? Thats a head scratcher. |
