Dallas Cowboys suffer most embarrassing loss of the Jason Garrett era

Well, that was embarrassing. The Dallas Cowboys went into New Orleans and were dominated in every aspect of the game.

Here are my five thoughts on the Saints’ 49-17 victory over the Cowboys Sunday night.
  1. This is why Jerry Jones can’t simply expect to “get into the tournament” and get hot like the Giants, Ravens and Packers have done in recent history. This team isn’t good enough to go on the road and beat good teams. Heck, they couldn’t even hang with one Sunday night. It seems silly to even talk about postseason games with how poorly the Cowboys looked, but they’re in the worst division in the NFL so it’s not out of the question. Sure, they could possibly shock a team at AT&T Stadium in the Wild Card round but they just aren’t good enough on both sides of the ball to win away from home.
  2. Maybe that Rob Ryan guy wasn’t so bad. Ryan sure looked like the better defensive coordinator in this game. Yes, the Cowboys lost Sean Lee early to a hamstring injury. But it’s not like New Orleans’ defense is loaded with big name stars. Ryan had his group ready, holding Tony Romo to only 20 passing yards in the first half and basically taking Dez Bryant out of the game. Ryan wanted some revenge, whether he would say it or not, for getting fired by the Cowboys in January. It’s likely that Ryan He got it Sunday night and probably
  3. This was the worst loss of Jason Garrett’s three seasons as Cowboys head coach. The coach usually gets too much blame when a team loses and Garrett will certainly get his share for this one. And not having Sean Lee and Jason Hatcher isn’t a good enough excuse, not when the result was that lopsided. I just don’t see any way Garrett is still coaching the Cowboys next season if this team doesn’t win the division, which means his future with the Cowboys could come down to the outcome of their final regular season game.
  4. The talk all week was about offensive balance. The Cowboys finally got the running game going but the passing game looked as bad as it has all season. It’s become obvious for the good teams in the league, when facing the Cowboys, take away Dez Bryant and make the other Cowboys beat you. Fortunately for the Cowboys, they can continue working on that balance against a remaining schedule that doesn’t have many teams that compare to New Orleans.
  5. The bye week really couldn’t come at a better time. Sean Lee, Jason Hatcher, Morris Claiborne, DeMarcus Ware, Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and several others desperately need some time to heal. Get as many of those guys rested for the final six weeks when they’re going to need to win at least three games.

We've had more of those days as Saints fan than all their SB rings on all their players combined. They can stew on it while.

When my alarm went off this morning, I was all groggy & grumpy until I remembered last night's game. Then I smiled and got right out of bed. What a great time that was.

They have had way too many injuries of key players to be competitive, and it showed last night. I don't think it's the head coach, or even the assistants, its the GM. He's the one selecting and paying for the players. That Jerry Jones decided to run off the reservation and violate the salary cap rules and gets penalized, plus paying too much for 3 players so that he can't afford any other good ones isn't the coaching staff's fault.

Only player their offense was missing was Miles austin, who hasn't done squat this season anyway

Dallas have scored points in huge bunches the past couple weeks, they couldnt even manage 1 first down on 9 attempts against us

I thoroughly enjoyed the beatdown we gave the cowboys last night but after reading their boards this morning I actually feel sorry for their fans. It took 16 years but finally they have given up. All the arrogance & fire is gone now. The cowboys might be the new browns, lol.

Feel sorry for them? Do you know any Cowboy fans? Shoot, those two Cowboys nitwits are on the NFLN and make me dislike that team even more.

Here's a question: when will actual cowboys sue the team and the NFL for having a sub par team represent them? Aren't they offended?

"The Jason Garrett Era"? that is not a real thing. For many reasons.

I'd forgotten that Dallas had a team, frankly.

Dallas gets no empathy from me. They suck.
