7 - 2
A very convincing victory.
Saints Defense Dallas's defense was very banged up. However, their offense was not. Romo 10/24 128 yards 1TD Bryant 1/44 yards T. Williams 1/21 1 TD (Exact replica of the Pats TD in the back corner on Greer) Witten 2/27 yards Murray 16/69 4.3 YPC First Downs 9 Third Down Efficiency 0% Red Zone Eff 50% ToP 2-:28 Saints Offense Brees 34/41 392 4TD Ingram - 10.4 YPC, 1 TD, 145 total yards, 7.5 YPC receiving Colston 7/107 1TD Sproles 7/76 1TD Stills 3/75 1TD Hartley 0/1 First Downs 40 New NFL Record Rushing 242 Red Zone Eff 80% Goal to Go Eff - 100% ToP 39:32 For the Ingram fans... Which so happen to be the "I am not going to feel good about the season just yet" crowd at the start of the season (for the most part). I will leave you with this. Who also blamed the offensive line but now want credit to go to Ingram... :) If Ingram has another game this season with 70+ yards and 4.0 +YPC, I will lead the Save the Ingram Foundation thread. I am not taking anything away from Ingram but all of a sudden either we found a running game in the bushes, our o-line ate Wheaties, or Dallas's defense was very hurt and sucked regardless of injures. |

Other than that spot on, if you watch the ingram highlights I posted in the other thread you will notice Jahri had one of his best games, I'm glad Ingram took advantage of great O line play, in my opinion they both deserve a ton of credit Seen as ingram got booed at the start of the game, he forgot about the dropped pass and went straight back to work Defensively - like you said dallas weren't banged up offensively and wow 0-9 on 3rd downs Romo had 20 yards passing in the first half total As soon as we made a lead, they could not string a pass together All round great effort by everyone.....except garrett hartley |
Re: 7 - 2
OOps LOL we were both wrong.. It was 83 and that's T. Williams. Thanks for the heads up though.
Ingram had a great game... I would call it phenomenal, however if he doesn't do anything more for the rest of the season he will get no credit for that. |

He did have a phenomenal game, What i would say is he doesn't have to continually put up those kind of numbers to be a success (it would be nice), just look at PT - sometimes he has like 40 yards rushing in a game but nearly all of them are for first downs We need ingram to be effective when he's called upon and he was last night, rushing and receiving I hope our O line can keep that sort of play up, all the O lineman were into it big time, Jahri was making some noise after stream rolling their MLB |
Re: 7 - 2
I will also add... We did it with out much work load placed on Graham.. And that is HUGE
I also love the all Black Unis.. I know some dont.. I think it makes us faster ;) |

Colston fed off the coverage shift and was wide open most of the night, I tell you what though - kenny stills, what a guy! best saints rookie receiver I've seen since colstons rookie season I think the all black uniform does make us faster, atleast it did for spiderman lol yeah I love that kit aswell, especially on prime time games |
Re: 7 - 2
I have read in several places the Cowboys were "nicked up" on D. Just wanted to point out the Saints starting safeties, Jenkins and Harper, were out. Not to forget a starting Ilb, Hawthorne, DNP, and C. Jordan has a foot :).
Also, Hartley was 7 for 8 in kicking. GEEEZ, some of you want perfection. Lolololol Just saying. Living in Dallas/Ft Worth metro, it is going to be a great day. |
Re: 7 - 2
So unless im mistaken and it does happen from time to time.
If we match the Falcons result this weekend we can official kill there season on Thursday 21st November. |

I heard monte kiffin left sometime in the 3rd quarter packed his crap up and headed on the team bus. If thats true what a sore loser and shows he don't give two squats.

Re: 7 - 2
-The Dallas defense is horrible.
-Brees was at his best. The recievers didn't have to work to the ball. -Colston on the field is a difference maker. -Thomas and Ingram have the talent. -The o-line is average in skills but big on heart. -Collins was great as a lead blocker. -Great scheme on defense that was perfectly executed. -Stills was a steal and another great find by Loomis and Co. -Graham is a bad dude. -Humber, White, and Foster are great role players. -The Saints in the dome with the home crowd are almost impossible to beat. -It's in Hartley's head. Not good for a kicker. Not good for the Saints. -Sproles does not need to be exposed on punts. -The concussion issues with Vaccaro are not good. -Brutal schedule the rest of the way. |

Re: 7 - 2
so its okay to say if we had colston and sproles last week we would be 8 and 1

Re: 7 - 2
Don't even attempt to watch the highlights for this game. Too many.
ESPN could give it its own top 10 and a segment called 40 for 40 1st downs. |

7 - 2. What was our record last year at this time. I'll take 7 - 2

Re: 7 - 2
Here's my simple take on this. I think we need to be mindful that the Cowboys D sucks from top to bottom, front to back and side to side. However, even if this was the reason it demonstrated the following lovely little chain.....
1) The O-line was very good indeed 2) This allowed us to effectively run the ball 3) This allowed us not only to control the clock exceptionally effeiciently but opened up the passing game for Drew Brees 4) This allowed us to hit multiple receivers in all sorts of play calls 5) This allowed us to run our offence in the lights out fashion we know they can play 6) This allowed us to build a lead that meant the opposition, in this case the Cowboys, couldn't afford to keep running the ball 7) This played into our defensive positives (pressure and our secondary coverage) and away from our negatives (our rush defence which still is pretty sucky) 8) This allowed us to win the game in a truly ludicrous fashion. This absolutely amazing comment comes from nfl.com and rather sums it all up.... "When the machine is humming -- as it was Sunday -- the Saints are virtually invincible." |
Re: 7 - 2
Sean Payton is now 13-3 in prime time home games, including the playoffs. I don't know about you all, but to me that's really impressive. I don't have time to dig and crunch it all out, but I wonder if there is any other active coach right now who has a better record in prime time, under the lights.

Re: 7 - 2
- the media said ATL would repeat as champions of our division
- the media said the Saints would only win 6 games - Jahri Evans looked liked a healthy Jahri Evans.... - This game hurt both teams on both sides it was physical count the names..... - Chris Ivory inspires Mark Ingram yet again.... - A running game wears down a defense.... and running the ball well consistently demolishes a defense. -The shutdown Dez strategy employed by Rob Ryan was personal.... -Don't look now Corey White is ready to take over for greer... -Don't you laugh every time Jimmy and Sproles are in the same picture -Sean Lee is Dallas's Brian Cushing -If we hold your team to 17pts we are gonna win every time. -Jason Garret seat just got hot |
