Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
The Will smith less , Keyon Colman less , Victor Butler less , Kenny Vaccaro less , Patrick Robinson less , and now Jabari Greer less saints are now an astounding 8-2. What's more is the fascinating is how close they are to being perfect ( record wise ).
Assuming Drew Brees remains himself we all saw the offense being a dynamic group , however the story for the saints is it's top 5 defense. Rob Ryan has more than done his fair shake at getting the worst defensive unit of all time some respect around the league. But one has to truly wonder ? When are all the injuries going to start taking a toll ? Long story short we need a corner ... Asomugha ? |
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Man injuries on this short week suck. Jabari will be out for the season unfortunately.

Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
White to cb, Jenkins to nickel, Carr to dime, Sweeting activated

Activate Sweeting and bring up Andy Tanner. Guys been rejected again and again. Hell he's better than Toon

Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Nmandi probably signs with us this week
|
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Greer is done for the season, this will hurt us down the stretch.
|
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Greer seemed to be struggling and getting turned around the last couple of years.
Since the naggings started nagging him, he hasn't been the same in coverage. I think we will be OK covering his contributions, but we can't keep losing pieces. |
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Greer will be missed sorely! Damn, I like him.......this may end his career.
|
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
I think White will do a solid job in Greer's spot. Hate that this happened to Greer; he seemed to be in decent spirits considering the circumstance. Hope it will be a speedy recovery, but that simply looked ugly on the field for him.

Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Not to rain on the parade but I just checked NFL network statist and the saints have moved up to the 4th ranked Defense!! This is mind blowing to me. Rob Ryan is clearly the coach of the year. I mean didn't he get fired for guys getting hurt. The more veterans get hurt the better the young guys play.
BTW: the Saints are the only team with a top 5 ranked Offense & Defense at 2nd & 4th respectively!!!! Whodat baby!! |
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
If he didn't tear something I will be pleasantly surprised.... Anyone who has ever had that type of injury knows it could be over for Greer.... I saw it and I immediately said that's his season.... And maybe his Saints career. Nnamdi is available.... I would go and seek his ass out!

Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
I think it was a dislocation and not a serious knee injury. We will see.

I also think this will be great for White's long-term development who is the CB2 of the future (well and now the present). |
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Its called depth.... When you have it, you can weather the storms.

Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
I'd like to see sweeting activated and hopefully Vaccaro can be back by Thursday. If he's out it's going to be tough sledding trying to cover gonzalez. This falcons game is going to be dangerous.
|
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
The falcons o-line bleeds penetration like our defense bled yards last year. No many teams have an answer for Gonzo... White drops more than he catches...
I will say this... We better have an answer for Douglas, I have him on my fantasy team and he is fairly lethal. |

He is tied with Megatron for receptions, and 3rd in yards. |
Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
Harry always has big games against us. I hate it when he makes those catches, he tends to come up with clutch plays right when we are shutting down their other weapons. Incredibly irritating.

Re: Defense solid , injuries taking their toll
I no longer fear any team.
