Updated playoff percentages (2 wins and we're in)
Saints What If?
5 wins guarantees HFA 4 wins guarantees BYE 3 wins guarantees #5 seed 2 wins guarantees #6 seed |
Re: Updated playoff percentages (2 wins and we're in)
If the Saints split with Carolina and can beat Tampa to close the season, then the Panthers essentially have 2 games to make up on New Orleans. They would need to win out and the Saints would have to lose to both St. Louis and Seattle in order to lose the division.
So we are in great shape for the #2 seed at the very least if we split with Carolina. If the Panthers lose to Tampa next week, that would allow the Saints to lose to Tampa to end the season (we could rest our starters if the #1 seed is out of reach, although you probably start the game with everyone playing a half so that we don't go into the divisional game with 2 weeks off). |

Those are really percentages as much as they are magic numbers.

Re: Updated playoff percentages (2 wins and we're in)
Interesting to see that even with a Saints win over Seattle, only 51 % chance we get the #1 seed.
Given that Seattle has to play at San Fran (payback time for that early season mauling) and against a hot Arizona team, they think it's basically a 50/50 chance Seattle finishes out the seaosn better then the Saints. |
