Saints Defense: Tied for 1st place in sacks
 

At this point in time we have 37 sacks, tied for 1st place with 4 other teams

To put that in perspective, through 16 games last season we had 30 sacks

Our D line in particular has stepped up their game

The best thing in my opinion, is our 3 leading sack leaders are all under 25 years old and will only get better

Good stuff. Of course, it is only because we played mostly indoors, have a soft QB, easy schedule and the refs help us win.

Russell Wilson is unlike other QBs we've faced.

Even Kaepernick.

LOL!!! And at the beginning of the season we have the 3rd toughest schedule in the NFL, the best road record in the NFL over the last several seasons, Brees was as tough as they come, and we hadn't had a controversial go our way in the history of the known universe.

I agree with that. Wilson and Fig Newton are mirror images to me, only difference Newton is much bigger.

Wilson reads defenses much better, and to my knowledge has never stolen any laptops.

It's incredible we have been able to get this many sacks despite the fact that Rob Ryan actually doesn't blitz that often. Rob has been masterful at calling plays and mixing up his defenses to confuse QB's. That, in addition to good coverage downfield, is why we have the high sack numbers. I do believe that Rob may be one of the best defensive playcallers I've ever seen, I would not hesitate to compare him with Dick LeBeau.
