OPTIMISTIC:
OPTIMISTIC: Although the Saints have lost three straight games and tumbled to 2-4, left defensive end Charles Grant remains a picture of optimism. "Hands down, we can win 10 or 11 games," Grant said. That means the Saints would have to win eight or nine of their last 10 games. If Grant were a reporter, what would he ask Saints' players? "What the hell's going on over here?" he replied.
HOMETOWN HERO: Saints return specialist/wide receiver Michael Lewis, who prepped at Grace King, said the natives are getting restless with the team's 2-4 start. "It's crazy," he said. "Everybody's always asking you, 'What's wrong? What's going on? Why can't you win?' It's like people think you go out trying to lose. We give 100 percent every time we step out on the field. During the course of a game, things happen. It's not like we're going out there to lose. It's hard hearing the same thing over and over and over again. I hear it every day. It just comes with the territory. But I'm going to stand up and defend my team." http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...0844263000.xml |
