STILL NEED KILLER INSTINCT

Great win last night, especially after last week’s nightmare.
I’m not going to second guess SP’s decisions
or criticize our Defense after that performance,
but the overall vibe still feels vulnerable to me.
4th and goal from the 18 yard line, and we let that clown score?
Eh...
After last week, the score should have been 60 - 6 IMO.

And to hear people talk about how tough the Saints are to beat at home,
although I feel proud, there is a trace of insult there.

I’m really happy about the win. I just wish (and hope)
we can scare people a little more, especially at this point in the season.

I think you're splitting hairs here

We completely snuffed out the "hottest team in football" last night.

After a brief warm up period our O and D methodically dismantled their game plan.

Yes I am admittedly splitting hairs. The rest of our opposition this year, into the playoffs will also be splitting hairs.

I hated to see Smith of all people catch that TD. But Cam extended the play and give any QB and WR that kind of time, it's going to happen.
It's not so much needing the killer instict as it is having a good gameplan with good execution on both sides of the ball.

killa instink!

what you talkin' bout' willis... they've got it in their souls. deep...

for instance when vacarro levels people?

the least aggressive Saint has more killer instinct while they sleep than fans will ever have in their entire life. hell, our kicker clotheslines people.

they have killer instinct at levels you & i don't likely comprehend... that is, of course... if you shine the light of reality on the scenario.

so do the other players in the NFL.

that is why they qualified, and many of us never would.

i like our defense. i like our offense. i like our staff. the coaches are the best.

that is what i know, for a fact. they're record setting, ring wearin' killa's!

31 - 13 against the #2 defensive team, arguably the best front 7 in the league, add in our top 10 defense... If that's not enough to scare you, I don't know what it is

Killer Instinct, huh?
Man. The days of drawing, hanging until dead, and posthumous beheading and quartering, was abolished in my little old England in 1870.
It seems many didn't have the stomach for it. Well they didn't when we put them through that.

I don’t have to be scared. St. Louis does.

Re: STILL NEED KILLER INSTINCT

I actually thought Payton showed a fair amount of killer instinct last night. We kept passing the ball and avoided the tendency to get conservative and run the ball after we got a nice lead. Drew was on point last night, the protection was good and they had holes in their zone D so we kept doing what got us the lead.

I wasn't too mad about letting them score at the end ... the D did make them put together a drive and take time off the clock, so in that regard they did okay.

I don't want teams to fear us.. that way the win is that much sweeter. Don't think we've ever been feared as a team only as a offense.

You sure we can't bring back the Brazen Bull, Scavengers Daughter, or the ever so versatile Pear of Anguish?

I'm happy about the outcome, but why are we not creating turnovers. If we did that we would be unstoppable!!! Have our DBs forgot how to step in front of the ball or get their hands on the ball. No question about it, we need a ballhawk in the draft next year

I understand the not creating turnovers argument, but they are getting off the field, and teams are having to go the full field on us.....

.. I had to double check my link. For a second I thought I was redirected to Saints Report.

"Killer instinct", along with all of the other war/battle references in football, are just for the fans who like to fantasize about such things.

It’s also a boxing reference.
Guilty as charged!
