New Orleans Saints can clinch playoff spot with win over St. Louis Rams, otherwise it's complicated

The New Orleans Saints are in prime position to return to the postseason after a one-year hiatus. The easiest way for the NFC South-leading Saints to clinch a playoff berth this week is to beat St. Louis.

Here are the scenarios in which New Orleans (10-3) can clinch a spot in the 2013 playoffs this week:

1. Saints win
2. Saints tie + Cardinals loss or tie
3. Saints tie + 49ers loss or tie
4. Cardinals loss + Cowboys loss or tie
5. Cardinals loss + Eagles loss or tie
6. 49ers loss + Cowboys loss or tie + Cardinals tie
7. 49ers loss + Eagles loss or tie + Cardinals tie

The Seahawks are in position to clinch home-field advantage throughout the postseason with:
1. Seahawks win + 49ers loss or tie + Saints loss

If the 49ers and Saints win and Seattle inexplicably loses it's going to get very interesting. All that really matters is that we win though. I'll be at the game and I'm bringing a space shuttle to see if I can set the noise record :P

seattle has an easy schedule remaining, but underdogs can be dangerous.

go underdogs.

kiss is correct... ties rarely occur. that would simplify it.
