Re: 2014 NFL Draft
After 54 throws his arm got tired??? No crap, Gil Brandt, let's put you out there to throw the ball 54 times and see if your arm doesn't get tired. There have only been a handful of times a QB threw that many times in a game, and they're getting breaks in between series.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
I'm hoping that any interest in Roby is a smokescreen. That guy is not a football player. If we take a CB early it needs to be Verrett.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Kyle Fuller currently projects on many boards at No. 27...
While I'd be crushed if we don't get Attaochu, could live with Fuller... While I'd clearly disclosed I don't like Ohio St - I'd be very, very disappointed if we took another OSU player like Shazier or Roby... We've had our quota in Will Smith and Malcolm Jenkins; they too were billed as fast, stong athletes; the only speed I ever saw out of either of them was Jenkins catching a player from behind, at our goal line... While I appreciated the effort, I'd rather our defense never let it get to that point - don't get the Saints FO fascination with OSU players; their supposed speed/athleticism never translates to NFL Football Fields... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Hey Jeanpierre, I'd argue with your use of the word never, but that's really not the point. You brought up two pretty poor examples and if I really had the energy, I'd bet I could match you at least three to one in successful NFL players from tOSU. But really, who cares?
I think you're absolutely right about Roby. I've spent way too many hours watching his play over the past three years and he's about as over rated as it gets. I'm really hoping someone reads the hype and picks him before us so we don't even have to worry about it. Shazier, on the other hand would give us a second Vaccaro on the team as far as lights out hitting goes... for a little while. He'll end up in rehab pretty quickly as pro players are a little larger and more savvy when it comes to crazy heads down body tackling. I'm hoping we don't draft either too. Just wanted to say something about blanket statements. |

Re: 2014 NFL Draft
Seer1, PM a list of OSU players and I'll respond and you'll see where I'm coming from re: OSU alum when you see the names/expectations...
There's some exceptions, but there mostly role players... |
