Well.......

If Drew Bree's wants jimmy graham and some tackles next year he is going to have to fork up sum money ! ... That's a fact but if he likes having 3 seconds to throw and 3 sacks a game then we r ok then

Re: Well.......

Graham also did a crab claw jump swat at football at least once yesterday.
If he's going to ask highest paid receiver in the league he needs to buck up a little toward the end of the season. Just sayin.

Yea. I think he is getting the hint that if he doesn't restructure and buy himself some protection he won't see much more of his contract. It's a miracle he hasn't gotten hurt.

You're right. We're blessed he hasn't ever been hurt since he has been with us. That said, we need to draft o-line and bring in our best talent there.

Salary cap is going up next season. Don't you contract haters worry...

TheOak 12-17-2013 08:04 AM

Re: Well.......

The projected Salary cap for 2014 is 126M. A whole +1M from this year.

I will caution some of you that miss the distinction between a bad offensive line and an unhealthy offensive line. You cant swap out an offensive line and assume next year they will all be healthier. The line is banged up.

BusDriver 12-17-2013 08:23 AM

Re: Well.......

Well they might be healthier & less banged up if Mark Ingram would quit running into the back of them. j/k haha

Danno 12-17-2013 08:33 AM

Re: Well.......

I should paste this into my siggy...
Cap savings if cut (hopefully some restructure)...
Will Smith - 10.4 million
Lance Moore - 5 million
Jabari Greer - 3.2 million
Mark Ingram - 2.3 million
Roman Harper - 2.2 million
Garret Hartley - 1.3 million
Thats over 24 million without Drew doing a thing.

Ok you've got me on the cap.

But Danno illustrated the room we have pending a few cuts (at least $15 mil)

And how do we know the line is "banged up"? Just because we're in week 16??

We know the line is banged up because of the injury report that comes out weekly and the players that do not practice but play.

Sunday against the Rams we were just flat... I think browns 2011 game kicked his arse mentally before the game Sunday started...

Danno is right but that 15m will cover Graham, how will you back fill the other 5 openings? Or will we play with a 48 man roster? :)

Grubbs, DLP and Brown have not been on the injured list, and Evans has practiced fully for a month. Strief was not on the list last week

Chase me all you like.

Grubs neck Questionable
Ben Grubbs Injury Report | New Orleans Saints | Player Injury News | NFL Football | FOX Sports on MSN

Striefs list
Zach Strief Injury Report | New Orleans Saints | Player Injury News | NFL Football | FOX Sports on MSN

Evans's list
Jahri Evans Injury Report | New Orleans Saints | Player Injury News | NFL Football | FOX Sports on MSN

Brown and DLP are the only ones that haven't been injured. But when you are playing next to an injured lineman you have to help pull his weight.

Do you think Sean Payton is 100% honest about the Injury List? While he cant put healthy players on it he can hide things to not point out a weakness in our o-line. Crap.. Drew has played hurt for 1/2 a season before and no one knew. I dont need a list to watch a game and see who is not at 100%.

I thought NFL teams couldn't use "injuries" as an excuse? :p

Rams game wasn't the only flat game of the season...

Re: Well.......

Evans has been fighting an injury all season, that's plain to see. I'm not big on DLP and then Oak's last post kinda put the nail in the coffin. But seeing as how centres aren't typically drafted super high (unless you're Jerry Jones) I'm hoping we can upgrade that position in the 3rd or 4th round.

Harper restructured his contract already, correct?

Yes.

Thsoe are just their cap hits. I'm assuming several may be restructured in order to keep them and avoid cutting them.

Some cash will be available.
And Drew needs to cough up some scratch.
Yes, I know he signed a contract.
Actions speak and I need Drew to say a few things regarding the future of the Saints and I want that $ to do the speaking.

none of those links contradicts anything I said.

here's what you typed:

and I said that, per the injury report, they have been practicing fully, and they have

Read back. Never said anything about injuries being an excuse for a loss. What I said was that there is a difference between bad and hurt while cautioning against replacing someone because of being hurt.

Never said the Rams game was our only flat game.

Here is a question for you. What outcome do you expect when a serviceable LT faces Robert Quinn?
