Don't look now but

Seattle is laying down for the cardinals it seems or not taking this game too seriously.

arsaint 12-22-2013 04:32 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Fear not - Seattle will stomp a mud hole in them before it is over and we will back into the playoffs...

Re: Don't look now but

I hate relying on other teams to make the post season.

Mardigras9 12-22-2013 04:34 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Actually, having secured the #1 seed, it makes sense to let Arizona win and trying to keep the other strong NFC team (us) out of the playoffs since we lost today.
Not that Carroll could actually do that (with his ego) I think.

Jamessr 12-22-2013 04:35 PM

Re: Don't look now but

A divison rival is more a threat than the Saints.

If that were the case they would rest starters?

arsaint 12-22-2013 04:36 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Oh we would beat Tampa like a stepchild with the playoffs on the line in the Dome - I firmly believe that.

That being said - we really don't have much to play for if we back in with a Seattle win today.

Unless of course Dallas is the #4 seed! Then we want the #5!

WillSaints81 12-22-2013 04:36 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Well they haven't clinched the 1 seed yet, they are smug enough to buy into their own hype about playing at home so they think they're a lock to beat the rams.

WillSaints81 12-22-2013 04:38 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Lions are down as well to the giants. The game could be meaningless for bears tonight as well but their backups are better than eagles'.

arsaint 12-22-2013 04:39 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Lions checked out on 2013 a few weeks ago.

Total collapse.

I think if the hawks did not want to win this game, with the cardinals, all they would have to do is sit Wilson & other starters. And you're right. Carroll's ego would not allow him to do that.

Not necessarily; If we win next week and the Falcons somehow beat the Panthers in Atl. We have the division I think

arsaint 12-22-2013 04:49 PM

Re: Don't look now but

You are correct, but ATL is only worried about tee times at this point...

They haven't clinched their division yet, niners can still catch them. Win today and they clinch everything.

Seattle isn't laying down, they're just in a hard-fought game right now.

I'm sorry, I can't see how we are the other "strong team" in the NFC. We have serious issues keeping Brees upright and our receivers just don't get the separation they once did down field in this offense. The running game is almost non-existent. Also our money play... the screen out of the backfield, has been defended very well in the past two games.

Right now after losing three out of four games, and splitting out last ten, arguably we are not a strong playoff team, and I don't see how this team can go on the road and get a win even in Philly, Dallas, or whichever team from the central you want to throw in there.

Re: Don't look now but

Seattle is giving this one away, missed extra point length fg and a turnover in their own Red zone with Arizona up 6-3....yikes...things are getting tricky

We win Next week at home , we re good....

There you go - Saints buttock sticking through playoff doorway...

arsaint 12-22-2013 05:55 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Seattle sucking, but will end with a W and HFA

|Mitch| 12-22-2013 06:09 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Uh Oh! Seattle will need a TD with 2 mins left to tie

Boutte 12-22-2013 06:11 PM

Re: Don't look now but

I'd almost rather not make the playoffs than have to get humiliated by whoever we play on the road. There isn't one team we could beat on the road. Well maybe the Cowboys.

LivnaLieTimay 12-22-2013 06:20 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Well, Arizona goes into Seattle and gets a W. Still haven't clinched the a playoff spot, gotta win next week.

|Mitch| 12-22-2013 06:21 PM

Re: Don't look now but

With Seattle losing, it all comes down to next week. We win and we're guaranteed the 6th seed... We win and the Panties lose and we get the division and the #2 seed.

amazing. could you imagine if we missed the playoffs?

jesus

Wow. I never thought we would actually have the possibility of missing the playoffs. When was the last time a 9-2 missed the playoffs?

13th ranked offense... so disappointing

They didnt secure anything but a playoff birth, they lose next week and niners win out niners take the #1 seed and hawks get wildcard

Wow! too many scenarios for my taste.

But I do like this one

Falcons beat the Panthers
Spot #3 - First Round Home Field Advantage

Remember when we use to clinch earlier in the season? Ah those were the days.

So far we are not getting any breaks to make the playoffs especially with the Cards winning today. It will come down to the wire.

The NFC is competitive, i doubt a AFC team wins the superbowl this year

Yes, but Saints couldnt beat them with those guys out. Hope the Falcans can, but they are not very good this year.

At least the game is in Atlanta, as if that makes a difference

I wish that we had to locked already we should be resting this last week. Scary to think we miss the playoffs if that happens all hell brakes loose.

Re: Don't look now but

Don't wish too hard to get the Cowboys, because they will open the roof on that puppy and hang out a sign out front that says WELCOME SAINTS, you can bet on it. Retractable roof = night game in the high 30s, not looking good for the Saints.

lumm0x 12-28-2013 10:44 PM

Re: Don't look now but

Atlanta was a typical Matty Ice meltdown away from taking that game versus San Fran. Barring another butt squirt by Ryan they actually could knock Carolina off and open the door for us to be in the #2. We will know if we are playing for 2 or 6 going into our game.
