Too much negativity here todaya
Usually I come here after a ****ty loss and you guys ease the pain a bit.. Cheer up it aint over.
The Giants went on the road as a wild card and won it all. Twice. What a great media story it would be to have a team who played poorly away from home all year long go on the road and win it all. I can see the headlines now. IF we get in I firmly believe the Panthers and Seattle will be one and done. We can take anyone else easily. |
Re: Too much negativity here todaya
I think the negative is desurved. Brees and the offense is not playing well. No reason to just pretend everything is honey and roses. Seattle is a great team. and not going down easy. Panthers are so weak.

Re: Too much negativity here todaya
I have seen no evidence that we are Super Bowl bound, I don't care where we play.
It seems we have scrapped everything that works for us and reworked the offense to be the most underwhelming show on turf. I am not as disappointed as I am pizzed at the coaching staff for this generic, gain-nothing, do-nothing, score nothing offense. We had the ball three times in the last four minutes of this game and could do nothing with it but GIVE IT BACK. The second time we did it I knew we were DONE. TOAST. MILK TOAST. Alaska |

Listen, winning a Super Bowl IS DEFINITELY NOT a good reason to be a fan of any team in the NFL. How long have you been a Saints fan, dude? The psycho-babble, here, after the loss today was shocking. Wow. |
Re: Too much negativity here todaya
You know it's bad when we're getting a pep talk from Dude. LOL.
I'm with you Dude, I ain't giving up just yet. |

If I would have just gone with a team winning a super bowl it definitely would not have been the Saints back then. |

The season IS NOT over and if you haven't been paying attention to the rest of the NFC, there is no current dominant team so anything is still possible. |

It's always easier to blame the refs. Almost every road game has had calls (debatably) as inconsistent as our offense.
I, myself, saw a panther tight end lined up past the line of scrimmage. It was in fact, the play that they spiked the ball. If anyone has film, please check this out. I believe it's Olson who's lined up in neutral zone by about 2 yards. Anyways, I was screaming my head off for them to throw a flag, but nothing. Even with them getting away with that ugly s**t, we still had a good chance at the end. Cam made a good play with pressure on all sides, and our coverage broke down. Grats Carolina, you've had a tough schedule right there next to us all year. And you got this many wins. Ladies and gentlemen, next year, NFC south has potential to have 3 great teams. I would say 4 but falcons will always fail..except against the panthers? *crosses fingers* Keep the faith boys, we didn't even get a wild card last year! |

Atlanta definitely wants to win. But they definitely don't want us having that seed. Poor dirty birds. Rock and a hard place. |
Re: Too much negativity here todaya
I am a fan. That doesn't make me delusional. IMHO we will get nowhere in the playoffs. We are overmatched on the OL. Not being able to run the ball at the end of games is a fatal flaw . A NYTHING CAN HAPPEN in the playoffs. I wouldn't bet on the Saints chances this year.

Saints have a slingshot chance to turn this thing around. And there are some positives. For instance, it will be really fun to win in an opponents stadium and watch the shocked crowd. Oh, and it looks like I may not have to spend money on playoff tickets. :greendevil: |

Re: Too much negativity here todaya
I appreciate the optimism, but I would like to know which specific teams people here think we can beat on the road in the playoffs, when we are averaging just 13 points a game on the road these days. WHO exactly do you visualize us beating with 13 points of offensive production, and no defensive or special teams scoring. Explain to me how that will work. I am all ears.
We've had TEN scoreless quarters since week 11, ten, no points scored, zero, completely zipped and shut out. Seattle by contrast, has had 5 in the same time span. Our defense is good, but is it THAT good, to hold a playoff caliber team like the Seahawks or 49ers or Bears to ONE touchdown, at their home stadium, in the playoffs of all places? Even the Packers without Aaron Rodgers are averaging around 22 points per game at Lambeau. People here keep saying that other teams "don't want to play the Saints in the playoffs," I look around the league and I think it's quite the opposite -- I think other teams are chomping at the bit to get us in their house in the playoffs, they can't wait for us to get there. Almost any team can score more than 13 points at home. Sorry, that just isn't scaring anybody right now. |
Re: Too much negativity here todaya
