Perspective
Lets be honest. The effort was there yesterday and we lost in the last seconds of the game on the road in rough conditions. Lets not jump off a damn cliff yet.
If you take a deep breath you will start to feel a small momentum shift in our favor. We will win next week, there is simply to much pride on this team. All we need is a seat at the table. Last 3 SB winners were 9-11 win teams with no first rd bye. Our D can take this team places. Yes, even on the road. |
Re: Perspective
And 2 of our road losses were helped by BS calls, New England and Carolina.
I have no doubt whatsoever that we can win out. We're as capable as any team in the league. |
Re: Perspective
It's nice to hear some optimism. Everyone is posting ****in suicide messages. Hell even my old man said some **** that blew me away. Lol. Everyone just settle down!!!!

Re: Perspective
As fans, we can't go into the playoffs, with blinders on.
For whatever reason, our Saints haven't been able to win road playoff games. Since we weren't able to win HFA, we are going to HAVE to play on the road in unfavorable conditions, i.e cold, wet, etc. We have our coach back, we have the personnel, we have the plays, we just need to play Saints football!! I hope the teams that we will meet keep the press clippings about the Saints not being able to win a road playoff game handy, so they can re-read them in the off-season!! |

Re: Perspective
At least, for me, every win here on out will be a pleasant surprise, rather than each defeat a shattering loss.
Its more peaceful anyway, and I'll live longer. Or so I've been telling myself. |
Re: Perspective
Yesterday was a heartbreaking loss... not a "the world is ending" type loss.
It honestly could have gone either way. |
Re: Perspective
What I can't stand is two things:
1. People saying they know what will happen in the future. 2. People saying that we should do INCREDIBLY STUPID SH*T like fire Sean Payton or cut DREW BREES. Our team isn't playing very well right at the moment. And, yeah, everyone knows we COULD be one and done in the playoffs. But, because we don't KNOW THAT FOR SURE -- we bother to watch the game -- and we come here to discuss it. We come here to discuss the team because it is interesting to read what other people think about this team. We DO NOT COME HERE to listen to ass wipes whinge about how because of the way we played yesterday -- we are for sure ONE AND DONE in the future. Or to listen to people call for the resignation of the most winning coach or QB in Saints history. And, when we are all on edge in the game day thread -- just remember that your pessimistic comments are particularly irritating -- because we are all wanting the team to win in that moment. If the game isn't even over and you are predicting a loss -- it is unsportsmanlike. There is always a CHANCE -- as Carolina proved yesterday. So, TRY to act like you can hang, ok? And, remember -- if going to the Super Bowl every year is the only reason you are a fan of this, or any team, then football is not your sport. Have a nice day. |

We kept the panthers from converting a 3rd down the ENTIRE game! Any team that does that has no business losing! I believe Vegas had us losing the Super Bowl as well! |

Re: Perspective
There's only 1 fan base at the end of the year that is ultimately happy. You know FAN is short for FANatic, every forum from every team has one thing in common, fans over react the positive and spew the venom/pessimism when things go awry. I think the key is to weed/ignore the ignorant/uneducated over reactions and engage in the discussions that have merit and provide positive feedback. I for one don't mind the off the wall posts, i simply ignore them. Happy Holidays and Merry festivus to the greatest fans in the NFL.

Re: Perspective
For decades this team broke our hearts, teased us for a bit, then broke out hearts again. But in just seven short years we have been spoiled. I have to often stop and remind myself of all the losing we had to endure and remember that, even though we may not win it all, this team has done what no Saints team pre-Peyton/Brees has done. And that's give us the OPPORTUNITY year in and year out to have a winning record, go to the playoffs, and have a chance at a Lombardi. I think that's all that we as fans should ask of our team. Just give us that chance every year.

Re: Perspective
Our d hasn't been the problem with the losses its more so the offense. I'm not worried long as we win and get in I know we can bring the wood. Id take This year ovee last year anyday.
