Chase Daniel may get a lot of playing time Sunday

Chiefs have made the playoffs and probably will rest their starters, so former Saints back-up QB Chase Daniel may get some extended playing time.

So he's filling the exact same role he was in N.O.

Good for you Chase.

Maybe Chase was what our offense is missing this year. He has a great rapport with Drew, and was always conferring with him on the sidelines- never see that with McCown

but...to answer your Q, Chase probably has a better future as an OC, not QB

I'd love to see him Matt Flynn it up and land a fat contract.

They may not have won their division, but this is what happens when you take care of your business and win the games in front of you, especially on the road. Big difference between being 3-5 on the road and 6-1 on the road. This is like a half- or mini-bye to them, and couldn't be better positioning, considering they are already a good team on the road and have to contend with being in the same division as Denver. They were dealt a tough position and have played to their own strengths, instead of messing around, stumbling, futzing and dropping games -- and now they aren't needing any help or hoping for other teams to lose.

and a last place schedule and games against two of the weaker divisions doesn't hurt

You play the games you're given, on your schedule, that's all you can do. The Saints 2009 Super Bowl run came off of a last place schedule in the NFC South from the year previous and against a relatively weak AFC East division. In case you didn't notice -- they haven't been back to a Super Bowl yet. And Payton is still 0-3 in playoff games on the road, and Andy Reid has more career division championships than Sean Payton.

He had a decent statline passing 21/30 for 200yds and a TD.

They could have won it too if Succop hadn't pulled a Hartley

Chase did all right - better than I expected based on his few and far between opportunities this season...

I get you- just saying that they had a much, much easier road schedule than ours

Re: Chase Daniel may get a lot of playing time Sunday

"easier" road schedule is highly subjective -- they are all NFL players and NFL teams, and everyone is the best of the best. Any given Sunday, etc.

I give huge credit and props to Andy Reid...he has built a team that can win on the road, in noise and disruptive crowds, in a division where there are many tough road games, all as part of the equation. I don't belittle them their schedule at all. That sounds kind of insecure to me, to belittle or put them down, but that's just my opinion.
