We won the pats game, ive watched most of patriots games this year and most of them ended in 4th quart drives where the only reason they scored is because of a bad PI call that went their way or missed obvious penaltys. If you kept up with them you would swear that the refs make sure they win. All the other games we flat out lost but that one really shouldnt of happened

Patriots is the one game where the refs handed the Patriots that win with seconds left. Then on the flip side, refs handed the Panthers a win vs the Patriots, its no wonder why Carolina is where they at now. Refs have been pretty favorable for Carolina in recent weeks as well.

Jets was a bad game, the Rams is up for debate as they got ticky tack on the Saints all game as well, but with Garret Hartley.......nahhh. Also a TD called back on a very questionable hold call, too many what ifs.

Never let a Con do a Saints work.
Brothers, here is how I view this season:
We got SP back after bullgate suspension and he said we needed to address the situation on defence and lo! We went from statistically worst in the league to 4th (2nd overall passing) overall.
With out SP we went 4-4 at home, with SP we're currently 7-0.
Teams that can win on the road do so cause they have a strong rushing game and a good defence, and I have every faith that SP will fix that this off season.
Considering that we have a loaded back field, I imagine that we're going for some o-line help.

i dont agree.. we had chances to close the pats and panthers game.. a ref can hurt us and kills us but it should not have been in there hands.. i was at thats st louis game and robert quinn killed us by his self.. I talked to alot of saints fans not one of em blame the refs.. its play calling and players not doin there job, but who cares we gonna shock the world and beat everybody they put in front of us

Really? Go look again at that poll and thread in the "NFL" forum.. I was one of only a FEW people in the other thread about this game, who said it was delusional to think that the Panthers would actually let this game slip. People were pumping Saints sunshine all over the place -- just read the thread. Every single reason or excuse why the Falcons could/should/would win, was trotted out, and almost no realistic discussion at all given about the matchups and the actual Panthers team was brought up. Read the thread and the poll. It was like a mass hysteria gripping people, that the Falcons were somehow very evenly matched with the Panthers and were gonna win, but that is part of fandom I suppose. I was convinced all along that Atlanta would lose, regardless of score, and they did, so I am not really too concerned with it.

Yes I realize that. I guess what I meant to say was, I was looking at the whole thing more from the realistic point of view of, given that they had beaten us and secured the #2 seed, I felt like there was NO way Carolina was going to let that game and the #2 seed slip away from them, instead of hanging my hopes that Atlanta "could" possibly win it. And it wasn't *really* that close. Atlanta soared on a spike of emotion early, then Carolina evened it up, took the lead at the end of the half, Atlanta tried to come back but couldn't. It wasn't a dominating performance, but Atlanta was behind on the scoreboard for more time of the game than they were ever ahead, and Carolina has a good defense.

The vote in the poll was 24-14, which is pretty strong, and I think there were a lot of people who said things that made it seem like they felt it was gonna happen. Some of it may have been things I gleaned from other forums, or the radio, but there were plenty of people here and in general, pumping sunshine about the Falcons' chances and the Saints having the #2. I know there are posts about it.

I thought consistently the whole time that it was grasping at straws. Maybe you disagree, it's just my impression, but I felt like there was a lot of euphoria and sort of, marching-into-battle exuberance from Saints fans -- not YOU in particular Danno, but Saints fans in general -- about the Falcons chances of beating the Panthers today and giving the Saints a gift. Maybe I misread what everyone was saying. Maybe the score was close. The Falcons didn't win and I never thought they would, so my sum total emotional loss over the Saints losing the #2 seed because of their needing "help" today is zero. But from 4+ pages of thread, and dozens of posts in other threads, it seems like many people were hoping for it. That's all I meant to say.

That really couldn't be further from what I was trying to say. I just think some people, here and elsewhere, kinda got the fever, over that Falcons/'Panthers game, and kinda thinking we could somehow get the #2 seed back after we lost it earlier, is all I am trying to say. Look at practically any post I made prior to the Seattle game a few weeks ago. You'll see I'm generally a pretty true trooper, thick or thin. I'm a Big Sean Payton fan. Wouldn't trade him for the world.I just don't think the Falcons had a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Panthers after we lost to them, never thought it, not even once during the game when it was close.

That blown snap at the end of the game was the perfect crushing end to their season. Even though it ended our #2 hopes, I would hate to appreciate the Falcons for doing us any favors anyway.

The falcons have tons of talent but no heart.
