Philly here we come!

Good week of prep and we should be able to get it done

Gotta stop the Run, plain and simple...counter with our own run game and for the love of god test the Phi secondary please!!

Gotta make those linebackers cover.

Game time 510, according to nfl network, should be nice and cold. Can't wait for the second season to start.

Time to break up that "can't win on the road/cold" meme. I wanted Dallas but I look forward to the Saints proving the world wrong.

Got in the dance, that's all you can ask for really.

I can see it now, Saints vs Panthers NFC Championship game. On an 80 yard drive Cam Newton throws a pick to Keenan Lewis on the 32 yard line to seal the game with 1:27 to go sending the Saints to the Super Bowl 24-21.

Phi -2.5 to open. Vegas sees another close road contest for New Orleans.

I see us controlling the game.

Weather could be a huge factor for both teams. All things being equal though, we should be able to handle the Eagles. Who Dat!!

Re: Philly here we come!

Philly will be an interesting game.

We must have answers for DeSean Jackson and Cooper. Period
Their offense is potent both on the ground and the air. Nick Foles is no joke and is leading the league in QBR, he doesn't throw a lot but when he does he makes them count.

If you think Russell Wilson is good, Nick Foles is statistically better and his line gives him a lot better protection. Foles has 27 TDs and 2 INTs.

Defensively they are 10th against the run so do not expect much ground game from us.....

Their pass defense is abysmal.
32nd yards allowed
Give up 23.9 YPG in the air
20th in the league in sacks, Trent Cole is their sack leader with 8
They are in the top 8 for INTs
They are opportunistic.. think 2009 Saints defense.

The core of their Defense is their LB corps, and this team is +12 in the turn over ratio.

We're going to beat Philly down.

Not overly impressed with Foles however that #95 DE they have (can't recall his name) ... he is a guy we will have to contain.

halloween 65 12-30-2013 08:57 AM

Re: Philly here we come!

With Foles at QB they act like an option style team but in reality Folds don't run well, they play an illusion run, although he is accurate at passing. They run misdirection plays and screens as well as any team out there. Their D can be taken advantage of often, they may rank#8 against the run but can be run on 4-6 yrds. at a time often, so that stat is misleading. Contain McCoy and pressre Folds and they will fall.

May come down to the team that has the ball last wins!

34-27 Saints!

There is the catch... You try and pressure Foles and they screen. Containing McCoy is easier said than done... He averages 100 yards/game and is the league rushing leader by +341 yards.

All at a time when Vaccaro is out.

We can get it done but it is easier said than done.

Nah 49ers are going to beat them in rd 2

I thought it was funny how we pretty much owned Revis yesterday. Revis Island was flooded by a tsunami whose name is Brees.

Meachem made Revis look really silly. Ha ha ha ha ha!

Srgt. Hulka 12-30-2013 09:26 AM

Re: Philly here we come!

If we can just protect Brees, keep him off his back and give him the time he needs, we'll destroy the Eagles. Our D will hold their own.

Yep, this game comes down to our offense, and that all starts up front.

Re: Philly here we come!

I wish it were DC because I, we, know the Saints could handle them more. DC would have been less travel time and in a semi-domed stadium. Roof open is still domed -like.

Gosh, I hate saying shet like that because it sounds as if I have no faith in the Saints. I do have faith in these Saints. Some of their L's this year were in which they handed the win to the other team and insisted the other go on and win: NEPats, CPanthers.
That is my concern when they get to the 4th and sort change their minds or something.

PE is a tougher team like these Saints.

Saturday is really far away, but not really really.

I would like the Saints to come out with a newness about them in plays. Attitiude. Start the tone of the game early in their favor and keep it going like some teams do.
Saints can win it. No doubt about it.
Saints offense has to show up and play 4qrtrs.
Saints defense has to show up and play 4qrtrs.
Saints special teams need to show up and play 4qrtrs when called upon too.

Re: Philly here we come!

I hate how the playoffs are set up, there is no reason for a 12-4 like the 49ers to have to go to Green bay and play there even though they have 4 more wins than them. It's ridiculous that Arizona misses out on playoffs with 10-6 and Green bay makes it with 8 wins. And flashback to 2010, Seattle... yeah Something needs to be done with seeding, don't just let a division winner take a seat mid-season like the Colts because they clinched their division. Make them fight for their seed and desire to play for a home game or two

leilung 12-30-2013 10:30 AM

Re: Philly here we come!

McCoy is the key. If our guys can somehow keep him on lockdown, I think we take this.

Desean Jackson is a deep threat, but has alligator arms in the slant, and Riley Cooper reminds me of Fred Biletnikoff (slow as molasses, has no separation skill to speak of, but manages to catch just about everything thrown his way).

In short, if we do what we do and give Brees a little time to look downfield, we take this one.

The NFL has been changed enough. I say leave it how it is. I hated when they changed the overtime rule.

Agreed, if you start making division titles meaningless, then you might as well get rid of divisions all together. If you don't want to play on the road, win your division.

And not turning the ball over. That has been the killer in all the losses.

I'm juiced for this game! We play our game and don't turn the ball over and we will win. For some reason I think this team's only real chance of winning the SB this year is by going the nasty route we have laid in front of us.

Re: Philly here we come!

We have to win the turnover battle. Philly does not beat themselves in that regard so each grab/carry needs to be sure handed and drew needs cut out any potential wtf picks. If we do that I think we'll be in good shape.

i checked its philly is a 2.5 point favorite. not complaining but why would a team as hot as the eagle only be a 2.5 favorite against a team that has lost 3 straight road games and looks really bad in the cold? makes you go hmm?

Well homefield advantage is +2 so they are only getting .5 for hotness lol.

because the spread is playing to the punters laying money. We will see how th eline goes nearer the game but it looks like the punters are thinking this is a close one.
