I thought Lance Moore was showing he has not got any hernia issues (at the moment). Whatever it was, it motivated me to look away.

I thought it was hilarious, funny how Stills was the cause of the flag... He even got fined for participating, I believe...

Dancing is one thing...celebrating is another thing...
That was just nasty! Where was Miley???
I know Lance's momma called him after the game.
He ought to use some of his down time to think of something better than that one.
That sucked, Royally.
Wish I had never saw it.
The director in the truck just couldn't find another camera to go to...
He was cursing eight guys for not having an alternate shot.

I for one hope your joking.... Lance has always been about good clean fun. Plus, it's gotta be an inside joke for just the WRS.... Stills knew exactly what Lance was doing and got involved....

Have you ever heard the saying, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything @ all. Why is this comment needed. The only thing that needs to go away is your asinine comment here. It's offensive, and there's no place for it. Well, actually there is a place for it...... It's called a KKK meeting. ( BTW that was a joke. I hope you can find the humor in that joke and not consider me hood... it's obviously since I am black the last thing I would want to be associated with) Hell, your unspecific comments here are actually more hood than Lance's humorous imitation of a Key and Peele sketch. I don't think the two gentlemen who created this comedy sketch are from the hood. Neither is the guy who imitated them on the football field..... So are you saying that celebrating is from the hood? I wonder if the sketch was derived from a Saturday Night live show would he have said that it was straight from the Trailer Park???

This is football, not dancing with the stars or Comedy Central.

He cost us 15 yards in a 1 score game. The Key and Peele skit is hilarious, the Moore/Stills version wasn't.

Some people need to take wins more seriously. They looked like fools, nothing hilarious about that.

I'm a fan of winning football games, not risking a loss so a couple of show-offs can perform a choreographed dance routine.

If you have to have all of that show-off "look at me I just scored my 2nd TD of the entire season" crap perhaps pro-wrestling is a better form of entertainment for you.

A silly penalty like that WILL absolutely kill us in the playoffs -- remember Reggie Bush's taunting penalty in the NFC Championship game that lit a fire on the Bears sideline, the game was never the same after that penalty happened, it got the other team fired up and totally changed the momentum back in favor of the Bears on that one play.

The bears play got them in the game not the Reggie bush play.... We were not good enough to beat them Reggie bush taunt or not.

Omg, 15 yards gonna lose us the game...... They looked like two people having a good time doing something they loved..... They gained a little recognition for themselves, and this fanbase as well.....nothing wrong with that.... You did say this was a form of entertainment right....... Btw that is his job, if it got to Payton you know that **** would be nipped in the bud...

Agreed... Payton loves this kind of stuff. He wants his players and coaches to have swagger. Like it or not, arrogance is just part of the team with Payton at the helm.

I have a hard time believing Payton would be happy with, or even tolerant of, a 15 yard penalty especially over something as trivial as a post touchdown celebration.

Payton's the type of dude who likes to rub it in. Whether it's Pierre pulling out an Xmas bow and putting it on the ball then handing it to a fan, or Lance dancing every time he scores a TD, or Jimmy purposely messing up the goal posts in Atlanta in week 1... Sean is fine with it.

My guess is he was furious about it.

Costing your team 15 yards is bad. Costing you team 15 yards because you're performing a comedy routine after a TD is dumb.

No way Payton was fine with it.

Obviously some people here have not heard the angry "you think you're worth 15 yards?" comment by Payton from the Mic'd Up segment they did on him a couple of years ago. No way Payton was fine with it, or encourages it among his players -- like Danno said, I'm sure he was furious. "Swagger" is something entirely different, too - that's a Brees thing that Brees always talks about, it's like a quiet confidence type of thing, or knowing you're a complete badazz ball player, knowing that your stuff is gonna work and you're gonna get results and big plays, it's not a fun or exuberant thing. TD celebrations is not what they are talking about when they talk about swagger.

Exactly. Why most of our team has respect around the league and a few guys don't. Same was for a guy like Barry Sanders. Likely the best in the league at his position and respected by all but didn't feel the need to act like a 5 year old.

I am very tired of the the post 1st down and post TD celebrations. Especially ones that cost us penalties. Selfish and stupid.

Not a fan of the dry hump dance! I like Lance Moore but he is really the only "celebrator we have. I guess I need a sense of humor too. To be an even bigger buzz kill it is a really selfish act to limelight yourself at the expense of the penalty. Not trying to be uptight it is just stupid.

Oh wait.... it was a blow out......What about a comedy routines in pre - week interviews or even funny interviews after the games over..... Let's not have those either.... Let's be a completely stoic franchise while were at it. Shawn is a jokester himself... this week alone... The new jumpsuits we got are gonna help us on the road, or making reference to Chip Kelly's weight... If you wanna be completely honest, the way yall are talking maybe he shouldn't have said that because that could be motivation for the Eagles.....Go Back, if you don't believe me. whistleman comments after the Tennessee game a few years ago... Do your job right.... and have a good time while doing it!!!

Hilarious.... Marques Colston couldn't be Lance Moore any more than Lance Moore could be Marques Colston.... And i'll bet if you ask Colston.. he appreciates having Lance on the team keeping the fans involved... something he has never wanted to do.. or should have to.

Let me take you back, Ravens game....In Baltimore...Pass to Colston corner of the endzone.... Colston drops the pass but we still score the TD... He didn't dance cause we were down in the game... TD Lance Moore!!!

It's funny how because I don't act like I'm 106 yrs old on the field that somehow that would put me in the category of being prideless, or classless. Yet when there's a team trip to a hospital...Im somehow in the picture. Or a Saints throw a benefit for an organization who needs help or even my own personal yearly basketball game to raise money for a charity goes unnoticed.... #wakeup!!!

You know what, your right.... Swagger is not about TD celebrations. But when you have put the time in... done what you are supposed to do in the classroom, in practice, and then your number is called and your play is successful, you deserve to celebrate... Even if your celebration is a little bit more boisterous than just handing the ball to the referee... ala Drew brew Brees rushing touchdown dunks!!!

You are so far out in left field you're in the parking lot dude. None of the other stuff you mentioned costs the team 15 yards.

And it wasn't a blow-out it was 7-0 and in the 1st quarter.

I don't know if you just don't understand, or you're now trying to deflect because you realize you're wrong.

Deflecting is the opposite of what I am doing. I actually pointed out that your most precious 15 yards was ultimately pointless in the grand scheme of the game. Which it was.... I also shot down the notion that our coach would be furious with Lance Moore, Kenny Stills for having fun, when he himself is a jokester.... often razzing the media, our fans... other coaches etc. That tampa bay team could have come into the dome 15 times and wouldn't have won a game.... What's worse is you know they wouldn't have.... But you go ahead and cling close to the 7 points in the first quarter thing and that 15 yards like they were Saints loss.... I have never, in the history of the league seen a celebrating penalty cost a team a game... Have you!!!!

Actually you did..... Lance need to learn some pride, class i.e Colston.... None of this could be further from the truth.... He likes to have fun.... But he is the consummate professional to teammates... as well as opponents.

Bottom line...7-0 in the 1st Qtr and we give an inferior opponent 15 yards. It was soon 7-7 with giving up field position. Against an inferior opponent.

My opinion (as if it matters): any unnecessary celebration dance that causes a disadvantage to your own team is the essence of STUPIDITY. Think his defensive teammates or special teams folks liked giving up 15 free yards? To an inferior opponent...in the 1st Qtr of a must-win game to get into the playoffs? Bush League and idiotic, selfish and moronic.

Trust me I value all opinions, you call it unnecessary, I call it much needed. It's a nerve packed home crowd that has been fed stories all week about their collapsing squad, we had not scored a first drive TD almost since the beginning of the season......when he scored and got into his little routine, it was in a way sorta like saying "hay calm down we got this"

Agreed, and the Saints have shown playing an inferior opponent DOES NOT mean sure win. I can't stand the showboating either, but maybe it's an age thing.

Good point on calming the nerves and worries of some of the home crowd and maybe even some on the team with that 1st TD celebration. But as you can see from the previous posts on this thread, it surely didn't encompass all of the fan base. And it certainly didn't put our special teams and defense at ease.

If we wanted to make a statement with swagger and saying "we got this", I think most of us would agree the best way to accomplish that would have been: Morestead kicks from the 35 and sends it through the end zone on the kickoff for the touchback, the defense never lets TB get a yard for a 3-and-out, we get the ball back around the 35 yard line, then march down 65 yards and take a 14-0 lead in the 1st Qtr. Instead of 7-7, it's 14-0.

Going into the playoffs, any 15 yards is too valuable to shart away for something as selfish and petty as a TD celebration dance. But maybe I'm old?
