Outside of the weather and protecting Drew... this is what scres the **** out of me

I am listening to the local sports talk channel here, 94 WYSP. The announcers are literally admitting that the Eagles CB's get flagged for PI, but that they hope this game is not decided by the refs. Basically they start advocating for no PI calls even though they admit the tendency of their CB's to do this.

So that I can read between the lines, if I may:

Do not call legit PI call because this is the playoffs and you should be allowed to do that

That scares the **** out of me because it is what I fear will be allowed. It is something I have never been able to stand about the NFL. Called one way during the season and in the playoffs called another.

Anyone else worried our WR's will be mauled all night and not get a call?

How is that any different than the regular season?

The Saints are flagged for borderline things, but the flags are sewed to the refs pocket when the opposing team does it.

As long as the game is called the same on both sides, I'm okay with it...

The minute they start calling it in favor of either team, that's when I get frustrated...

The field is going to be slippery. I fear that we will be at a severe disadvantage. We don't do cutbacks well.

I would hope not. They covered it, right? 25 degrees or so... should keep from being bad, right???

What I hated about the regular season... Was the flag would be thrown in our favor, say like a PI on Graham. After a short conference, the flag would be picked up with a "No foul on the play" as the explanation

Im in philly now. its about 20 degrees with windchill it feels like single digits. But the sun is out but its to cold to melt snow. Basically its going to be cold as crap and the field will be dry but frozen. Saints will be fine. WHO DAT!!!

I can explain that, Mitch. That's called the Goodell effect

Yeah, I am about 20 minutes outside the city and an it will be during game time. You going to the game boss or are you in this area. Enjoy the game, stay warm! Keep your toes, ears, and fingers warm. All else will be fine

I am not buying in to the conspiracy.
They give up 290 passing yards a game and played a crap schedule against backup QB's from Dall, Minn, Chi, & GB. It doesn't seem like they are getting a lot of calls waved off.

I think the problem with the refs is that, if they're not calling PI, or personal fouls, the advantage goes to the team that figures out FIRST that the refs are calling it loose or not calling it at all that day. THEN the other team finally figures out that they can get away with it, they they do it too obviously or too much, it turns into a brawl or a mugging, and then THEY (the second team) get the call against them.

That's honestly what I think has kinda happened a few times to the Saints with the refs this season. Their D is slow to figure this stuff out, or they're not properly preparing for the crews. I know there are some teams and coaches who prepare for the refs and give reports and advice about the specific officials, to the players, telling them they tend to call lots of this or that, certain things to look out for, what they can get away with, or what or avoid. No idea if the Saints do this or not. But they seem to have been on the slow end of things a couple of times. Plus if you look sloppy doing it, the refs will call more stuff on you, EVERY TIME.

lucky mofo.. but getting to the topic I'd be more worried about calls not happening on the last drive or last minutes. We've been screwed already by refs at the last minute.

Forget the PI calls -- our WR need to FIGHT FOR THE BALL every play.
