Uhh...camera crew?
I'd just like to point out that all game, they have focused on the mouths of both Sean Payton and Rob Ryan while they were calling plays. They even close up on Drew in the middle of the damn huddle. I haven't seen Chip Kelly during play calling or Nick Foles mouth in huddle.
This is ridiculous. I'm no lip reader, but even I can make out certain key phrases. I'm a conspiracy theorist, yes, but am I the only one who is being outraged by this?? Lets go saints, WHO DAT! |
Re: Uhh...camera crew?
There was even a close up to Sean's play sheet from over his shoulder. I freeze frames it there and I could read things clear as day. Makes me wonder if anyone in their box upstairs has the same freeze frames. Would be a smart move.

Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I noticed the same thing. Think Seattle's coaches DVR'ed this game?
|
Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I saw the call sheet as well- lot's of men's names that begin with 'R' and 'L'
|
Re: Uhh...camera crew?
The words you see do not describe the plays, so there is nothin to be gained.
They make up words and names for the plays and it changes weekly so other teams can't figure it out. |

There is no right or left, gaps are numbered... Could all be odd, even, or both. Could have colors for gaps also. |
Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I enjoyed the win very much. And oak you're right, they do a great job f mixing things up and using different phrasing for calls for each game.
It's still something to be concerned about though going forward I believe. I thought they used to not be able to show the insides of huddles. I guess it just makes me paranoid. After re-watching, it was ironically almost every key third down that they were in the huddle over Drew. Just kind of weird to see so much of it throughout one game. Edit-- but oh well, even if they had a professional lip reader, and knew every play we called, they still lost! What a win. Who dat! |
Re: Uhh...camera crew?
Actually, I worry that some of the things we write here about our weaknesses will be used in opponent's scouting reports. We watch this team every week -- so our observations come from a large sample size -- which is important. I cringe when an opponent's fans come by and ask us to report to them. How do we know that the "fan" isn't the opposition's scout?

They have a lot more and better film to watch and know what they are looking at and for; why waste time on fans who may or may not know what they are talking about? |

I am a database analyst. Data collection is the most difficult time-consuming job. Crunching the data, not that hard. Gathering the data = harder. If we asked some coaches -- I wonder what they would say? It certainly wouldn't cost much to pay someone to simply read these forums and extract some info on a particular topic -- whether or not they actually used it. This is what our government does. :-) |

Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I'm not saying we should shut the board down. I'm simply talking about the value of information gathering. It is a big deal. Did you know that companies like Walmart pay 3rd party companies to monitor Facebook posts about Walmart? Data gathering is costly and obviously corporations think what other people think about their products has value.

Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I think that coordinating the movements of 11 players on any given play is so complicated that if our opponents are trolling for insights from this band of myopic numbskulls, they deserve to lose.

Re: Uhh...camera crew?
A number of fans sites commented on showing Sean's play sheet from over his shoulder, and closeups of Saints calls. Everyone was shocked it was alloud ,and that the NFL aired it.
I dont respect Carroll for letting people take the fall for him at USC , then running to the NFL before he is fired. Im sure hes looking over the sheet and play calling. |

Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I seriously think it doesn't matter. If they had anything important to say they would have said it been said behind their cards. Even if they were to get them on film calling a play they disguise them in code and change up the verbiage.

Re: Uhh...camera crew?
I was rewatching the game and it is amazing how many close ups there were on Payton and Brees when they were calling the plays.
Something ain't right!:brood: |
Re: Uhh...camera crew?
Thats the director in the control room telling them what to do.
