We won in spite of a bunch of mistakes both veteran and rookie. The Kenny Stills allowing his route to be undercut is a case in point. But, to me this just speaks to the comprehensive talent and inspired coaching. I think this team is gonna travel.

The Carolina game I was all stressed out and bouncing off the walls; Tampa game I was there in the stands, so this was my first time watching Armstead on TV, with all the commentary and slow motion replays focusing in on him, etc.

I thought he looked very promising! Liking him better every outing. On a lot of plays where he got beat or made small mistakes, I had that feeling of "that's not gonna happen again!" and think he will only get better.

How about this stat to be excited about?

In playoff games when the weather was 35 degrees or below, dome teams like the Saints had won three of 25 games in NFL history. Three wins. That's not a misprint. And it had been a decade since anyone had done it.

I am satisfied. It was a phenomenal performance. If I hadn't enjoyed that performance, I would go watch cricket or read some romance book.

That's my whole season ... It's not worth it to get all stressed and angry over something you can't control or predict.

If we had lost because the defense gave up 40, Payton's play calling was horrible, and Drew threw 4 INTs... Why get all pissy? Aren't those the same exact people that got us there?

Have children brother? If you do then you know that you can enjoy watching someone fail at something. My girls try things everyday that they are not successful at, I just love watching them.

Same way with the Saints.

Ryan has turned this defense totally around and our offense still has the tools in place to put on a great show, we have seen it at almost all home games so its not like we CANT do it.
We have played some bad football on the road. Every time its been because we beat us more than anythng else. Turnovers, penalties, breakdown in protection etc.
Im happy we went on the road and got our first playoff win. If it ends here I will be happy.
I can relax next game and take the bad with the good. I just wanted to see one win.

I did say before we played seattle that whoever won that game would lose to the other team when they met again in the playoffs. It is a possibility and I feel a lot better about it but if it doesnt happen I am not going to get too upset and break as many things as I might otherwise
Like Dungy (of all people) said I love the way in which we won this game. We won it in spite of Drew making mistakes and without hiding behind huge numbers. We won it the old fashioned way with a stout D and solid run game and that really is a playoff teams best friend. especially on the road.
I was also happy to see Ingram finally break out. I guess he really does need to be consistantly fed the rock. Makes me wonder how we would have played had PT been in.
Anyway good win and if it ends next week at least they made the offseason one week shorter.

I don't think I could have said it any better than this my friend

If the Saints lose next week to a better team, I won't be upset. If the saints beat themselves, I will.

Well said, I agree 100%. If we shoot ourselves in the foot all game, I'll be pissed. If Seattle proves they're just a better team and whip us, hats off and I hope they destroy Carolina, if Carolina advances.

Well put Oak. I used to get all pissy and destructive over a loss but several years ago realized that there are more important things in life and putting stress on myself on top of what life throws at you just isn't worth it.

I was in the mindset before this game of expecting a win but prepared for a loss. That mindset remains for next week as well. :bng:
